Nanjing Mobile Toilet Disinfection

Admin September 21, 2026

The disinfection methods for mobile toilets in Nanjing mainly include three types: high-tech equipment disinfection, integrated system disinfection, and traditional disinfectant cleaning, with specific methods varying depending on the toilet type and technological application.

1. High-tech Equipment Disinfection
Some public toilets in Jianye District, Nanjing, have introduced the "Digital Disinfection and Odor Removal Guardian" equipment, which relies on an IoT platform for intelligent management. The equipment periodically sprays disinfectant gas into the toilet space, utilizing the diffusion characteristics of aerosols to cover the entire area. This not only rapidly decomposes odor molecules but also efficiently kills bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens in the air and on surfaces. Such equipment is typically equipped with sensors that can monitor environmental data in real-time and automatically adjust the spraying frequency to ensure consistent and stable disinfection effects while reducing the need for manual intervention.

2. Integrated System Disinfection
High-end eco-friendly mobile toilets often employ an integrated system that combines physical filtration with chemical disinfection. Its core components include a multi-stage filtration unit and a UV/ozone generator: the filtration system intercepts solid impurities and microorganisms using materials like activated carbon and ceramic membranes, achieving preliminary water purification; UV or ozone then performs deep disinfection of the recirculated water by damaging microbial DNA structures or oxidizing cell walls. Some systems are also equipped with an electrolyzed water module that generates disinfectants such as hypochlorous acid by electrolyzing saltwater, further enhancing the sterilization effect. This technology enables closed-loop water utilization, offering high disinfection efficiency without the risk of chemical residues.

3. Traditional Disinfectant Cleaning
For traditional mobile toilets, the disinfection process must strictly adhere to hygiene standards. Cleaning personnel are required to use chlorine-based disinfectants (such as 84 disinfectant), quaternary ammonium compounds, or peroxide-based disinfectants, diluted according to specified ratios, to wipe or spray high-touch areas like toilet bowls, floors, and door handles. After disinfection, a dwell time (usually 10-30 minutes) must be maintained before rinsing off any residual disinfectant with clean water. Additionally, management must establish a maintenance log system to record disinfection times, disinfectant types, and operators, ensuring traceability of the disinfection process and compliance with public health management requirements.

The choice of disinfection method should consider factors such as the toilet's usage scenario, foot traffic, and technological costs. For example, high-traffic areas like tourist attractions may prioritize automated equipment to reduce labor costs, while temporary event venues might opt for traditional disinfectant cleaning for rapid deployment. Regardless of the method chosen, regular maintenance and effectiveness monitoring are crucial for ensuring disinfection quality.
