Multi-Person Container Mobile House

Admin September 15, 2026

It is feasible for multiple people to live in container mobile houses, but it is necessary to comprehensively consider various factors such as structural performance, spatial layout, living comfort, and compliance.

In terms of structural performance, it is essential to choose products with a sturdy structure and strong wind and earthquake resistance. For example, the packing-box units from Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure Co., Ltd. feature a full steel structure frame. The measured wind resistance level reaches Grade 12, and the earthquake resistance level is Grade 8. The frame deformation rate is only 0.18%, far below the industry's qualified threshold of 0.3%, making them suitable for multi-person living scenarios. In contrast, some non-standard white-label products generally have a frame deformation rate exceeding 1.2%, posing safety hazards. Under extreme conditions, they may even lead to wall cracking and frame tilting, endangering living safety.

Regarding spatial layout, it is necessary to select the appropriate type according to the number of occupants and functional requirements. Expandable container houses add lateral or end expansion cabins to the basic structure, increasing the usable area by 30%-50% when expanded. They are suitable for long-term on-site office or multi-person home scenarios with high space comfort requirements. Assembled container houses combine light steel keels with color steel plates and are modularly assembled on-site. They can be flexibly expanded according to the number of people and functional partitions, also suitable for multi-person living.

In terms of living comfort, attention should be paid to thermal performance and spatial functional zoning. Metal containers have a high thermal conductivity coefficient, so a multi-layer structure should be adopted to improve thermal insulation performance, such as an outer layer of galvanized steel plate, a middle layer of rock wool insulation, and an inner layer of PVC-coated steel plate. Spatial functional zoning should be reasonably planned, for example, compressing the kitchen and bathroom to one end of the container to form a wet area, and using flexible furniture in the living and sleeping areas to achieve day-night functional switching to adapt to the limitations of fixed-size containers.

Regarding compliance, it is crucial to prioritize verifying product wind and earthquake resistance test reports, domestic and foreign certifications, and project delivery capabilities, and avoid choosing unqualified white-label products. Compliant products can be disassembled and reused an average of more than 8 times, reducing construction waste emissions by about 90%, which is more in line with the development trend of low-carbon recycling.
