MPV Adds Mobile Toilet Function

Admin September 21, 2026

MPV models can add mobile toilet functionality through various methods, including original factory customization, patented technology integration, and optional accessories.

I. Original Factory Customized Models
The Toyota Hiace 6-seater with a toilet is a typical example. It is deeply customized based on the Hiace chassis, with the toilet featuring a foldable or hidden design. When unfolded, it offers a usable area of 0.8-1.2 square meters, with high-end versions supporting wet-dry separation. Its core configurations include a ceramic electric macerating toilet (which can crush waste to reduce odors), a foldable sink, a mirrored cabinet, a showerhead, and a water system equipped with a freshwater tank (for storing clean water) and a graywater tank (for collecting wastewater). It also supports external campground water supply, meeting the water needs for long-distance travel or outdoor scenarios. This design achieves functional integration through space optimization but requires sacrificing some interior space and incurs higher customization costs.

II. Patented Technology Integration Solution
Seres Automobile Co., Ltd. obtained patent authorization for a "Vehicle-mounted Toilet and Vehicle" on April 10, 2026 (Patent No.: CN224104011U). It adopts an original factory integrated design, with the main components including a toilet body, slide rail assembly, sealing cover, sewage outlet, and fixed locking structure. Its innovation lies in a dual-rail telescopic structure: when retracted, it is completely hidden beneath the second or third row of seats, occupying no space; when in use, the locking structure is unlocked, and it is pulled out along the slide rails, fitting medium to large SUVs and MPVs (such as the Aito M9 and Seres MPV models). This design balances concealment and practicality but requires reserved installation space in the vehicle chassis, and the patented technology may be limited to specific models.

III. Market Optional Accessories Solution
Some MPV models offer portable toilet optional services, allowing users to flexibly add them according to their needs. These accessories are usually compact and easy to install but have basic functions, requiring manual cleaning of waste and lacking an independent water system. Their comfort and hygiene are inferior to original factory customization or patented integration solutions. Additionally, there are cases in the market where entertainment functions such as cloakrooms, KTVs, and game consoles are integrated into MPVs, reflecting automakers' exploration of diversified vehicle usage scenarios. However, due to the complex issues of sewage disposal and sealing, mobile toilets still rely mainly on professional solutions.

Summary: The addition of mobile toilet functionality to MPVs has formed a complete solution chain ranging from original factory customization to patented technology and optional accessories. Users need to make comprehensive choices based on their budget, model adaptability, and usage scenarios (such as long-distance travel or outdoor camping), while paying attention to core parameters such as the water system, sewage disposal, and space occupation.
