Mobile Toilets Established During the Military Parade
The mobile toilets established during the military parade feature reasonable quantity and layout, advanced internal facilities, clever space utilization, and flexible adjustment functions.

In terms of quantity and layout: Different military parades are planned reasonably according to the venue and crowd flow. Taking the National Day military parade in 2019 as an example, Beijing Environmental Sanitation Group placed 596 mobile toilets around Tiananmen Square and along Chang'an Avenue. During the military parade on September 3, 2025, 20 white van-type trucks were parked along Chang'an Avenue to serve as mobile toilets. In areas with heavy foot traffic, such as the east side of the Great Hall of the People and the west side of the National Museum of China, tent-style toilets with sufficient toilet stalls and high efficiency are set up. Trailer-type toilets similar to cars are arranged along Chang'an Avenue to cope with the relatively dispersed toilet users. In areas with relatively few toilet users, single toilets are installed. This layout fully takes into account the crowd characteristics of different areas, ensuring the convenience of using the toilets.
In terms of internal facilities: The mobile toilets are equipped with modern facilities. Some adopt independent stalls with ultraviolet disinfection. The activated carbon filters are automatically replaced every hour, effectively killing bacteria and eliminating odors to keep the air fresh. Excrement is pumped through vacuum pipes to a treatment station 5 kilometers away, with an environmentally friendly and efficient treatment method. Even the toilet paper is made of biodegradable materials to avoid leaving traces and reduce the impact on the environment. Some mobile toilets also use vacuum flushing systems to ensure 'clean flushing, no splashing, and water conservation', which not only guarantees hygiene but also saves water resources.
In terms of space utilization: The space utilization of toilet stalls is carefully designed. The spacing between toilet stalls is repeatedly adjusted to ensure that adults do not feel cramped when turning around or getting up, while precisely compressing redundant gaps to improve space utilization efficiency. The partition design is also optimized to save space without affecting privacy protection. Through these optimizations, the number of toilet stalls in the core area of the square has increased by 20%, effectively relieving the pressure on toilet use.
In terms of adjustment functions: The mobile toilets can adjust the number of male and female toilet stalls within a few minutes by removing signs and partitions according to the on-site ratio of male and female toilet users, maximally meeting the needs of the reviewed personnel and the spectators, reflecting their flexibility and adaptability.
