Mobile Toilet Without Septic Tank

Admin October 22, 2026

Mobile toilets without septic tanks mainly achieve the collection and treatment of excrement through movable sewage storage tanks, biodegradation devices, or waterless flushing technology. Common brands include Jinda, Xinyue, Tianlan Outdoor, etc., and the materials cover fiberglass, color-coated steel, and steel structures.

I. Technical Types and Working Principles

  1. Movable Sewage Storage Tank Type
This type of toilet directly collects excrement through pipes into an independent sewage storage tank. The tank body is usually made of high-density polyethylene or fiberglass, featuring anti-leakage and corrosion-resistant properties. The capacity of the sewage storage tank is designed according to the usage scenario, generally able to hold the excrement of 50-200 people. When full, it is transported by a special sewage suction truck to a sewage treatment station for centralized treatment. This technology is suitable for temporary events, construction sites, etc., with the advantages of easy installation and no need for fixed infrastructure.

  2. Biodegradation Type
By adding microbial agents, the decomposition of excrement is accelerated and converted into harmless organic matter. Some products adopt a layered design, with the upper layer being the toilet area and the lower layer being the biological reaction chamber filled with media such as sawdust and coconut coir to assist in degradation. This type of toilet requires regular replenishment of microbial agents and cleaning of residues. It is suitable for ecologically sensitive areas or long-term usage scenarios, but the ambient temperature needs to be maintained between 5-40℃ to ensure the activity of the microbial community.

  3. Waterless Flushing Type (Degradable Plastic Bags)
It uses automatically sealing plastic bags to collect excrement. After the user finishes using the toilet, the device automatically seals the bag opening and drops it into a storage box. When the box is full, it is directly replaced with a new bag. The plastic bags are usually made of starch-based or polylactic acid (PLA) materials and can degrade within 180 days in the natural environment. This technology does not require water, electricity, or sewage storage facilities, with a single-use cost of about 0.5-1 yuan. It is widely used in outdoor events, disaster relief, etc.

II. Market Products and Material Selection

Mainstream brands such as Jinda mainly focus on steel-structure waterless flushing toilets, Xinyue specializes in fiberglass sewage storage tank type products, and Tianlan Outdoor focuses on color-coated steel biodegradation toilets. In terms of materials, fiberglass has strong corrosion resistance but high cost, color-coated steel is lightweight and easy to transport but has average heat insulation, and steel structures have strong load-bearing capacity but require rust prevention treatment. Users can choose the appropriate type according to the usage frequency, budget, and environmental conditions. For example, in cold regions, it is recommended to choose fiberglass products with thermal insulation layers, and for short-term events, waterless flushing types can be preferred to reduce costs.
