Wind Resistance of Mobile Toilets
Admin September 20, 2026
The wind resistance rating of mobile toilets varies depending on their type and design, reaching up to a maximum of Level 14. Conventional products can generally withstand wind forces of Level 8 to 10, but may fail under extreme weather conditions.

I. Wind Resistance Ratings for Different Types of Mobile Toilets
- Standard Models: Typically have a wind resistance rating of Level 8 to 10 (corresponding to wind speeds of 17.2 to 28.4 m/s), suitable for construction sites, municipal areas, and general scenic spots. Among them, ordinary mobile toilets can withstand wind forces of Level 6 to 8, while some construction site or economical models can reach Level 10 through reinforced designs, meeting safety requirements for municipal and construction site use.
- High-End/Scenic Spot/Large Models: Utilize steel structures or reinforced designs, achieving a wind resistance rating of up to Level 12 (wind speeds of 32.7 to 36.9 m/s), suitable for coastal areas, open high-wind zones, or large-scale event venues. For example, reinforced standard mobile booths can withstand a wind pressure of 3.0 kPa, corresponding to Level 12 wind forces.
- Simple/Lightweight Models: Have a wind resistance rating of Level 6 to 8, suitable only for low-wind-speed, temporary scenarios (such as short-term exhibitions or temporary construction sites), with simple structures and lower costs.
- Coastal Specialized Models: Designed for extreme weather conditions, standard coastal mobile booths can withstand a wind pressure of up to 5.0 kPa, corresponding to Level 14 wind forces (wind speeds of 41.5 to 46.1 m/s), suitable for areas frequently affected by typhoons.
II. Key Factors Affecting Wind Resistance
- Structural Materials: Fully steel-framed structures offer the strongest wind resistance, followed by light steel, while simple panel structures have the weakest wind resistance.
- Fixing Methods: Using counterweights (such as concrete bases), ground anchors, or wind-resistant guy wires can enhance wind resistance by 1 to 2 levels. For example, it is recommended to install wind-resistant guy wires for mobile toilets with a height of 2.2 meters or more.
- Installation Environment: Surrounding obstacles (such as buildings or trees) can reduce wind speed impact; open areas or elevated locations (such as mountaintops) require reinforced fixing.
- Height and Size: Taller and larger mobile toilets have a larger wind-exposed area, necessitating stricter reinforcement measures.
III. Limitations Under Extreme Weather Conditions
Under extreme weather conditions such as super typhoons (wind forces of Level 10 or higher) or tornadoes, even mobile toilets that meet wind resistance ratings may be damaged if the wind pressure exceeds their design limits. In such cases, it is necessary to relocate or reinforce the equipment in advance and suspend use to ensure safety.
