Mobile Toilet Water Pipe Installation
When installing water pipes for mobile toilets, it is essential to focus on three core aspects: water supply system connection, drainage and septic tank setup, and water and electricity connection and commissioning. The specific operational points are as follows:

I. Water Supply System Connection
Flush-type mobile toilets rely on a stable water supply. Before installation, confirm the location of the water source and the water pressure. The material of the water supply pipe should be pressure-resistant and freeze-resistant (such as PPR pipes or galvanized steel pipes). If used in cold regions, the pipe burial depth should be below the local frost line to prevent pipe rupture due to freezing in winter. If an external water tank is used for water supply, calculate the tank capacity based on the number of users (it is generally recommended that the single-day capacity be ≥50L per person) and regularly check the tank's tightness to prevent sewage infiltration or water contamination.
Key connection details: A valve must be installed at the connection point between the water pipe and the toilet's water inlet for easy subsequent maintenance or water shutdown operations. All interfaces should be sealed with dedicated pipe fittings (such as unions and thread seal tape). After water is turned on, observe for 24 hours to ensure there are no leaks before putting the toilet into use. If a booster pump is used, ensure that the pump body is safely isolated from the power supply to avoid the risk of electric shock.
II. Drainage and Septic Tank Setup
The drainage system should be planned in advance to ensure smooth sewage discharge. The slope of the drainage pipe is a core parameter: the slope of the main drainage pipe should be ≥2%, and the slope of the ground-connected PVC drainage pipe should be precisely controlled between 2% and 5%. A slope that is too small can easily lead to sewage accumulation, while a slope that is too large may affect the stability of the pipe connections. A odor-proof trap (such as an S-shaped water trap) should be installed at the connection point between the drainage pipe and the septic tank to block the backflow of odors using the water seal principle. If directly connected to the municipal sewage network, confirm that the elevation of the network is lower than the toilet's drainage outlet to prevent backflow.
The design of the septic tank should select a capacity based on the frequency of use (it is generally recommended to be ≥1m³) and reserve a cleaning port. If a sewage collection bucket is used, regular cleaning is required (it is recommended to clean it every 3-5 days) to prevent sewage overflow. When connecting branch pipes, use pipe fittings such as tees to open holes in the main pipe according to the positions of the toilet, sink, and floor drain. All interfaces must be coated with dedicated glue and tightened to ensure tightness.
III. Water and Electricity Connection and Commissioning
The sewage pipe should be connected to the nearest sewer or designated sewage collection bucket, and the pipe slope must be ≥2% to prevent sewage retention. For water source connection, it is recommended to use a water pipe with a diameter of ≥DN20 to ensure sufficient flushing pressure. The commissioning phase requires step-by-step testing:
- Flush function test: Continuously flush 3-5 times to observe whether the toilet or urinal drains smoothly and whether there are any blockages or backflow phenomena.
- Tightness test: Fill the floor drain and sink with water to check for leaks at the connection points between the drainage pipe and the septic tank/sewage collection bucket.
- Odor-proof test: Close the toilet doors and windows for 1 hour and then check for any odors inside to confirm the effectiveness of the odor-proof trap's water seal.
After commissioning is complete, mark maintenance reminders at key pipe nodes (such as valves and elbows) and regularly check the aging of the pipes (it is recommended to replace rubber seals every 2 years) to ensure the long-term stable operation of the system.
