Water Discharge Volume of Mobile Toilets

Admin October 19, 2026

The water discharge volume of mobile toilets varies significantly depending on their type and flushing technology, with a single flush volume ranging from 0.2 to 6 liters. The specific water discharge volume needs to be analyzed comprehensively in combination with the toilet type, flushing technology, and usage scenario. Below are the water discharge characteristics of mobile toilets with different technologies:

Traditional water-flush mobile toilets use conventional flushing systems, with a single flush volume typically ranging from 3 to 6 liters. This technology relies on gravity to flush away waste with a relatively large amount of water, ensuring cleanliness. However, it consumes a high amount of water and is suitable for scenarios with abundant water supply or high hygiene requirements, such as temporary toilets for large events or urban public areas. The technology is mature and cost-effective, but its water-saving performance is limited, making it less applicable in arid regions or scenarios with water scarcity.

Water-saving mobile toilets significantly reduce water consumption by optimizing flushing technology. For example, high-pressure air-water flush toilets combine compressed air with a small amount of water, using approximately 0.5 to 0.65 liters per flush; vacuum negative-pressure flush toilets use negative pressure to suction away waste, with a single flush volume typically ranging from 0.5 to 1 liter; air-water flush toilets differentiate water usage based on the type of waste: 200 milliliters (0.2 liters) for a single urine flush and 400 milliliters (i.e., 200 milliliters per bowel movement flush) for two bowel movement flushes. These technologies reduce single flush volumes while maintaining cleanliness, significantly lowering water consumption and making them suitable for water-scarce areas, scenarios with high environmental protection requirements, or long-term use of mobile toilets.

Vacuum self-priming mobile toilets exhibit the best water-saving performance. Third-party tests indicate that their average single flush water consumption is lower than that of other types, with some models consuming less than 0.3 liters. This technology uses a vacuum system to quickly suction away waste, relying almost entirely on suction rather than water flow for flushing, and only requiring a small amount of water to clean the toilet surface. Therefore, its water utilization efficiency is extremely high. Although its cost is relatively high, long-term use can significantly save water resources, making it suitable for areas with extreme water scarcity or high-frequency usage scenarios.

Mobile toilets with different technologies exhibit significant differences in water discharge volume. When selecting one, it is necessary to balance cleanliness, water-saving performance, and cost based on actual needs. Traditional water-flush toilets are suitable for short-term, high-traffic scenarios; water-saving and vacuum self-priming toilets are more suitable for long-term, water-scarce, or scenarios with strict environmental protection requirements.
