Mobile Toilet Urn

Admin September 20, 2026

The 'urn' in mobile toilets mainly refers to the front and rear urns in double-urn toilets, which are the core structures of this type of toilet, used for the harmless treatment and storage of feces.

Composition and Working Principle of Double-Urn Toilets

Double-urn toilets consist of a squatting pan, a fecal transfer pipe, a front urn (fermentation urn), a rear urn (storage urn), and an inclined bridge fecal transfer pipe. Feces are discharged into the front urn through the squatting pan. Solid matter undergoes anaerobic fermentation at the bottom of the urn, decomposing organic matter and killing some pathogens. Liquid flows into the rear urn through a fecal transfer pipe that is inclined at 45 degrees and about 1 meter long. The design of the fecal transfer pipe (higher at the front urn end and lower at the rear urn end) ensures smooth fluid flow and is less prone to blockage. At the same time, it uses gravity to separate worm eggs and impurities, gradually making the fecal liquid in the rear urn meet harmless standards. Both urns are equipped with lids to prevent odor diffusion and mosquito and fly breeding, ensuring safety in use.

Core Features of Double-Urn Toilets

  1. Efficient Harmless Treatment: Through anaerobic fermentation, middle-layer fecal transfer, worm egg sedimentation, and microbial antagonism, the fecal liquid in the rear urn can meet harmless requirements. It has been recognized by UNICEF and is suitable for rural sanitation toilet renovation projects.
  2. Strong Material Durability: Made of organic glass fiber reinforced plastic and inorganic composite materials, it has properties such as acid and alkali resistance, corrosion resistance, low-temperature resistance, and aging resistance. It has a service life of up to 40 years and is especially suitable for high-cold regions in the north.
  3. Outstanding Environmental Performance: With a fully enclosed design and equipped with ventilation holes to discharge odors, it achieves 'odorless, tasteless, and fly-free' conditions and does not pollute underground water sources, complying with the technical standards of the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee.
  4. Convenient and Economical Installation: The modular combined structure simplifies the installation process. Three people can complete the installation in just 20 minutes, reducing labor costs by more than 200 yuan compared to traditional materials. It also has mobility and can adapt to different scenarios.

Application Scenarios and Advantages

Double-urn toilets are widely used in rural areas and water-scarce environments due to their simple structure and low maintenance costs. Their harmless treatment ability reduces the pollution of feces to soil and water sources, and the material durability reduces long-term maintenance requirements, making them an ideal choice for improving rural sanitation conditions.
