Mobile Toilet Type
Mobile toilets are facilities that can be moved as a whole and provide toilet services to the public, with advantages such as mobility, modularity, and ease of transportation.

Composition and Materials
Mobile toilets are generally composed of fecal sewage storage tanks (or fecal sewage treatment devices), floor slabs, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tanks, roofs, and mobile devices. Initially, they were made of materials such as wood, with simple structures and functions, and were prone to absorbing odors. Later, they gradually evolved to use materials such as fiberglass and polyethylene, which are more durable and reduce odor absorption.
Classification Methods
- By structural form: They can be divided into single-structure mobile toilets and composite-structure mobile toilets. Single-structure toilets are relatively simple and independent, while composite-structure toilets may be composed of multiple parts and may have richer functions.
- By mobility method: There are lifting and handling-type mobile toilets, which may require lifting equipment or manual handling to move positions; and powered and towed-type mobile toilets, which can rely on their own power or be towed by other vehicles.
- By sewage treatment method: They are divided into water-flushing and non-water-flushing suction-type mobile toilets. Water-flushing toilets are similar to traditional toilets, using water for flushing, while non-water-flushing suction-type toilets treat feces through suction. Recirculating water-flushing mobile toilets can recycle the flushing water; dry-packing mobile toilets pack feces in a dry form.
Features and Applications
Mobile toilets can be conveniently transported to any location where toilets need to be installed and can be used repeatedly. For example, a young man created a portable toilet using several buckets; a company has developed a folding toilet that shrinks to a height of only ninety centimeters and can be easily transported by a pickup truck or a small van, suitable for use at event sites, construction sites, and remote areas; pastoral-style mobile toilets have ridged roofs decorated with thatch, rainproof facilities in front, public washbasins and beauty mirrors, and men's toilets equipped with partitions, suitable for use in some characteristic venues.
Origin and Design Principles
Mobile toilets originated from the temporary and periodic need for toilets in certain situations. Due to the shortage and inadequate layout of public toilets in cities, the government installs them in areas where it is relatively difficult to build fixed public toilets. Their design should follow the principles of mobility and convenience, economic durability; environmental protection and ecological friendliness; and improving efficiency and promoting humanity.
