Mobile Toilet Tutorial

Admin September 20, 2026

You can refer to the following two tutorials for making a mobile toilet:

Making with a Water Storage Barrel

  1. Basic Structure Construction: First, use an angle grinder to split the water storage barrel in half lengthwise to serve as the main space of the toilet. Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board to facilitate subsequent movement. Take several wooden strips and fix them to the upper side of the barrel with self-tapping screws to increase the height for human use.
  2. Door and Wall Construction: Use an angle grinder to cut an opening on the side of the water storage barrel. Install sponge strips on both sides of the opening to form a door frame. Insert plastic soft boards between the wooden strips to create an elevated wall. Place the upper half of the water storage barrel on top of the wooden strips as a roof. Paint the wooden strips with white waterproof paint to enhance aesthetics and water resistance. Use foam strips to拼接 (assemble) discarded honeycomb wooden boards to make a simple door and fix it in place.
  3. Drainage and Water Supply System Installation: Drill a hole at the bottom of the barrel and install a drain pipe to form a floor drain. Drill a hole on the side and connect a direct joint. Place a plastic bucket on the roof to serve as a water storage device and connect a water pipe to make a shower. Install a tee under the water inlet pipe and connect a showerhead. Place a toilet and install a water tank, securing the toilet with glass glue. Connect the drain pipe to a sewage tank. Connect a water pipe horizontally from the tee of the outlet pipe and extend it to the door as the water inlet pipe for a sink. Drill a hole in the door, install a joint, and connect a hose.

Making with a Water Storage Tank and a Pallet

  1. Mobile Base and Tank Processing: Fix universal wheels at the four corners of the bottom of a plastic pallet. Place a water storage tank recovered from a garbage station on the pallet. Use an angle grinder to cut along the top marking line to remove the top and form an open-top tank. Invert another open-top water storage tank and stack it on the first tank, securing the outer frame with self-tapping screws.
  2. Door and Drainage Setup: Cut a rectangular opening with a height of 180 cm and a width of 50 cm on the outer frame of the water storage tank. Cut the tank body to the same size to form a door opening. Use a hole-opening tool to drill a hole in the interior floor of the water storage tank. Insert an elbow from the bottom upwards and connect it to a water pipe. Seal the gaps with glue and then cut off the excess water pipe.
  3. Sanitary Ware and Sink Installation: Align the toilet with the drain opening and secure it in place with glue around it. Fix a water pipe at the wall fixture and install a faucet. Secure a pipe cap with screws at the bottom, connect a water pipe, and then drill a hole at the bottom as the outlet for the drain pipe. Drill a hole in the pipe cap, apply glass glue, and fix a sink made of a stainless steel basin.
  4. Water Tank and Shower Installation: Connect a water inlet pipe to the toilet water tank, connect a shower hose, and install a bracket and a toilet seat. Install a showerhead made of a water pipe. Bring a wooden board, fix hinges on the frame of the water storage tank, and fix the other side to a wooden box to form a door. Then install a door handle.
