Mobile Toilet

Admin September 20, 2026

A mobile toilet is a facility that can be moved as a whole and provides toilet services to the public. It is suitable for various locations and comes in multiple types with distinct features.

Suitable Locations

Mobile toilets are suitable for stations, docks, tourist attractions, villa areas, newly built residential communities, large construction sites, squares, densely populated public places, and bustling commercial streets. These locations often have temporary or periodic demands for toilets, and mobile toilets can effectively meet such needs.

Composition and Structure

Generally, they consist of a fecal sewage storage tank (or fecal sewage treatment device), flooring, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tanks, roofs, and mobile devices. Different manufacturers may optimize and adjust the structure based on actual needs and design concepts.

Development History and Materials

Initially, mobile toilets were made of materials like wood, with simple structures and functions, and were prone to absorbing odors. Later, they gradually evolved to use materials such as fiberglass-reinforced plastic and polyethylene, which offer better durability, water resistance, and corrosion resistance, enhancing the service life and performance of mobile toilets.

Type Classification

  • By structural form: They can be divided into single-structure mobile toilets and composite-structure mobile toilets. Single-structure toilets are relatively simple and suitable for locations with limited space or low demand for toilet quantities; composite-structure toilets are more complex and have more comprehensive functions, suitable for large-scale events or densely populated places.
  • By mobility method: They can be classified as lifting and handling mobile toilets, and powered and towed mobile toilets. Lifting and handling types are suitable for short-distance movement or locations requiring frequent relocation; powered and towed types can be transported over long distances by vehicles, offering greater flexibility and convenience.
  • By sewage treatment method: They are divided into water-flush and waterless suction mobile toilets, circulating water-flush mobile toilets, and dry-packing mobile toilets. Water-flush types are more hygienic but require a water source; waterless suction types are suitable for water-scarce areas; circulating water-flush types can conserve water resources; dry-packing types are more environmentally friendly and do not require sewage treatment.

Design Principles

The design of mobile toilets should adhere to the principles of mobility and convenience, economic durability, environmental protection and ecological benefits, and enhancing efficiency and promoting humanity. The overall structure should consider lightness, using lightweight and durable materials as much as possible; the structure should be sturdy; the design should also consider controlling the height and width of the toilet; and the mobile device should be fully considered for completeness and rationality.
