Mobile Toilet Charges Ten Yuan

Admin October 08, 2026

The charging situation of a mobile toilet that once appeared by the seaside in Jinfeng Town, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province is as follows:

Charging Standards and Mode

Previously, this mobile toilet charged 10 yuan per use. The operator, Mr. Liu, raised the price from 6 yuan per use to 10 yuan per use due to cleanliness issues, aiming to control the flow of people. Its charging mode is rather unique. After users scan the code to enter the "Xiaoxun Intelligent Control Center" mini-program and pay, a countdown of the remaining time is displayed in the center of the screen. However, the operator stated that the duration shown in the mini-program is not equivalent to the actual toilet usage time. Instead, during this period, no one else can scan the code to enter the toilet, while the actual usage time of the toilet is unlimited. After entering the toilet, there are also signs inside indicating that as long as the door is closed, the usage time in the toilet is unlimited. After the countdown ends, the door lock will not open automatically, and people outside cannot scan the code to unlock it. Users can unlock the door from the inside using a key. In addition, the shower fee is charged at a rate of 2 yuan per minute.

Price Adjustment Situation

After the exposure of the mobile toilet charging 10 yuan per use, the operator, Mr. Liu, adjusted the price to 2 yuan per use. However, after the incident escalated, he pulled the container back in the middle of the night, and currently, the container has been suspended from use.

Reasons for Business Adjustment

The operator raised the charge to 10 yuan per use mainly out of cleanliness considerations. Due to the large flow of people by the seaside, a lower charge might lead to an excessive number of users, putting significant pressure on the toilet's cleaning work. By raising the price, the operator aimed to control the flow of people and thus ensure the cleanliness of the toilet. The subsequent adjustment of the price to 2 yuan per use and the pulling away of the container for suspension of use might have been influenced by factors such as public opinion pressure.
