What Are the Standards for Mobile Toilets

Admin October 09, 2026

The standards for mobile toilets cover various aspects such as overall height, internal facility height, standards for waterless sanitary toilets, and dimensions of squat toilets.

Firstly, in terms of overall height, the design of mobile toilets typically does not exceed 4 meters. This limitation is primarily due to considerations of transportation safety and road passage. An excessively tall mobile toilet not only increases risks during transportation but may also be unable to pass smoothly due to exceeding road height restrictions. Therefore, a design height within 4 meters is a fundamental standard for mobile toilets.

Secondly, there are clear standards for the height of internal facilities in mobile toilets. For example, the standard height of a toilet seat is usually between 40 and 45 centimeters. This height design not only conforms to ergonomic principles but also ensures the comfort of users during use. For urinals, the standard height for adult use is approximately 60 centimeters, while in barrier-free scenarios, the height of washbasins is generally between 80 and 85 centimeters to accommodate users of different heights. Additionally, the height of showerheads usually needs to reach 1.9 to 2.1 meters to ensure that the water flow can cover the entire body during showering. In children's usage scenarios, such as kindergartens, the height of urinals is recommended to be adjusted to around 45 centimeters to suit children's height characteristics.

Furthermore, as a special type of mobile toilet, waterless sanitary toilets must meet the requirements of the GB/T18092 'Waterless Sanitary Toilets' standard in terms of design and manufacturing. These toilets are commonly known as 'environmentally friendly toilets', 'ecological toilets', or 'mobile toilets' in China, and their international generic name is non-sewered sanitary toilets. Through special designs and technological means, they achieve the goal of maintaining hygiene and cleanliness without the need for flushing, which is of great significance for water conservation and environmental protection.

Finally, there are also clear standards for the dimensions of squat toilets in mobile restrooms. Their length is usually between 600mm and 650mm, width is generally between 300mm and 350mm, and height is usually between 180mm and 250mm. These dimensional standards ensure the comfort and hygiene of squat toilet use.
