Mobile Toilet Staffing Ratio
Admin September 21, 2026
The staffing ratio for mobile toilets should be determined based on the scale of the event, the specific scenario, and industry standards, as detailed below:

I. Classification by Event Scale
- Small Events (Under 100 people): It is recommended to allocate 1-2 mobile toilets for every 50 people. For instance, for events with up to 50 people, provide 1 single-occupancy toilet; for 50-100 people, provide 2 single-occupancy toilets or 1 double-occupancy toilet, with an additional spare toilet reserved. This allocation meets basic needs and prevents long queues due to insufficient toilets.
- Medium Events (100-500 people): Allocate 2-3 toilets for every 100 people. For example, for a 200-person event, recommend 2 double-occupancy toilets + 1 single-occupancy toilet; for events with over 300 people, increase the number to 4-5 toilets, with a recommended gender ratio of 1:1.5 and include 1 accessible toilet. At this stage, gender differences should be considered, as women typically require more toilet facilities.
- Large Events (Over 500 people): Allocate 3-5 mobile toilets for every 100 people. For example, for a 1000-person event, suggest 3 double-occupancy toilets + 3 single-occupancy toilets + 1 accessible toilet, with additional temporary handwashing stations available during peak hours. Large events require buffer space to accommodate peak人流 (crowd flow).
II. Special Scenario Configurations
- Long-term Use Scenarios (Construction Sites, Tourist Attractions, etc.): Allocate 1 toilet for every 30-50 people. These scenarios have stable personnel turnover but high usage frequency, necessitating regular maintenance and cleaning.
- Campgrounds: It is recommended to allocate 1 toilet for every 20 people, along with shower facilities. Campground users stay for extended periods and have higher demands for the comfort of sanitary facilities.
- Row Configuration: For men's toilets, configure 1 row for every 25 people when the number is under 100, and add 1 row for every additional 50 people beyond 100. For women's toilets, configure 1 row for every 15 people when the number is under 100, and add 1 row for every additional 30 people beyond 100. This rule optimizes queuing efficiency and reduces congestion.
III. Industry Standards and Gender Ratios
- General Toilet Allocation Standards: It is recommended to allocate 1 toilet for every 150-200 people. For example, a 3000-person event would require approximately 15 toilets (1-2 groups of medium to large mobile public toilets). This standard applies to comprehensive events and should be adjusted based on specific scenarios.
- Gender Ratio for Toilets: In crowded venues, the ratio of women's toilets to men's toilets should not be less than 2:1. Women typically take longer to use toilets and may need to accommodate children or special needs, so prioritizing the number of women's toilets is essential.
Summary: The allocation of mobile toilets should consider the number of people, scenario characteristics, and gender differences, with the core principle being 'allocation based on need and dynamic adjustment.' Small events focus on basic coverage, large events require redundancy, special scenarios emphasize comfort, and optimizing gender ratios is key to enhancing the user experience.
