Size of Mobile Toilets and Toilet Seats

Admin October 06, 2026

There is generally no unified standard for the size of toilets in mobile toilets. It needs to be comprehensively judged based on the overall space and type. In common types, the toilet area adapts to the overall size layout, but there is no separate precise size data. The following is an analysis of the overall sizes of different types of mobile toilets and the toilet adaptability:

Single-person Basic Mobile Toilet The common size is 1.1m×1.1m×2.3m (length, width, and height). The internal space is compact, and the toilet area needs to adapt to the overall layout. Usually, a compact toilet design is adopted. The width of the toilet seat is about 30-35cm, the depth is about 40-45cm, and the height (including the seat) is about 40-45cm to save space and meet basic usage requirements. Space needs to be reserved behind the toilet for a water tank or flushing device, and about 10-15cm of legroom should be left on both sides to ensure user comfort.

Small Portable Foldable Mobile Toilet The size can be reduced to 1m×1m×2m, and the space is even more cramped. The toilet design needs to be further simplified, commonly featuring a foldable or detachable structure. The width of the seat is about 25-30cm, the depth is about 35-40cm, and the height is about 35-40cm. Such toilets usually use lightweight materials such as plastic or aluminum alloy to reduce the overall weight and facilitate transportation. A small water storage tank may be integrated behind the toilet or a waterless flushing design may be used to reduce space occupation.

Double-person Shared Mobile Toilet The length is increased to about 2.5m, the width remains 1.1m, and the height is about 2.3m. After the internal space is expanded, the toilet area can be equipped with two independent toilets or a double-row toilet. The width of each toilet seat is about 35-40cm, the depth is about 45-50cm, and the height is about 45-50cm. The distance between toilets should be kept at about 60-70cm to ensure user privacy and activity space. Such designs are commonly found in scenic spots or temporary event venues and need to meet high-traffic usage requirements.

Barrier-free Mobile Toilet The size is usually 1.5m×1.8m×2.4m, with a spacious space specially designed for people with disabilities. The toilet area needs to comply with barrier-free standards. The width of the seat is about 45-50cm, the depth is about 50-55cm, and the height is about 45-50cm, and it is equipped with handrails and an emergency call device. Sufficient space needs to be reserved behind the toilet for installing a large water tank or an intelligent flushing system, and about 80-100cm of wheelchair turning space should be left on both sides to ensure user safety and convenience.
