How Do Mobile Toilets Dispose of Sewage

Admin October 05, 2026

There are various methods for disposing of sewage from mobile toilets, including conventional water-flushing, vacuum sewage systems, water-storage sewage systems, biodegradation, water-flushing and waterless-flushing suction types, circulating water perforation types, and dry packaging types.

  1. Conventional Water-Flushing: This is a relatively common sewage disposal method. Mobile toilets need to be connected to water supply and drainage pipes. The flushing is triggered manually or by automatic sensors, discharging sewage into septic tanks or municipal sewage networks. This method is suitable for various water-rich environments, such as city streets and parks. It has relatively low construction costs, is simple to operate, and can adequately meet daily usage needs.
  2. Vacuum Sewage System: It utilizes negative pressure principles for sewage disposal. When the sewage in the public toilet reaches a preset water level, the vacuum pump automatically starts, quickly sucking the sewage and waste into a collection container. This disposal method is highly efficient, uses a small amount of water, and effectively prevents sewage leakage and odor diffusion. It is suitable for places with high hygiene requirements and limited water usage, such as tourist attractions and large event venues.
  3. Water-Storage Sewage System: Waste is flushed into a storage tank using water. When the storage tank is full, manual cleaning and replacement are required. It is suitable for places with sufficient water sources and easy cleaning, such as some temporarily constructed construction site toilets.
  4. Biodegradation: It employs biodegradation technology, using microorganisms to convert organic matter in the sewage into harmless substances before discharge. This method is environmentally friendly and can reduce sewage pollution to the environment. It is commonly used in areas with high environmental protection requirements, such as ecological protection zones.
  5. Water-Flushing and Waterless-Flushing Suction Types: Water-flushing types are equipped with water tanks and sewage tanks, while waterless-flushing types directly receive excreta in a sewage pool. These two methods have relatively small sewage pool capacities. When the number of users reaches a specified amount, timely water pumping and flushing are required. They are suitable for places with relatively low usage frequencies.
  6. Circulating Water Perforation Type: It is equipped with intermittent aerobic and anaerobic fecal sewage treatment devices. Biological strains are added, and biofilm technology is used to accelerate the fermentation and decomposition of fecal sewage. The treated water is circulated back to flush the toilet sanitary ware, saving water resources. It is suitable for areas with scarce water resources.
  7. Dry Packaging Type: There is no flushing device. Feces are received by recyclable plastic bags. After each use, a new plastic bag is automatically replaced. The plastic bags are collected and transported to a treatment plant for processing. No water flushing is required at all, saving water resources. It is commonly used in arid areas or temporary emergency places.
