How to Set Up Mobile Toilets

Admin September 24, 2026

The setup of mobile toilets should be comprehensively planned based on their basic components, emergency call systems, and the requirements of different scenarios, as detailed below:

I. Basic Components and Type Selection

Mobile toilets consist of fecal sewage storage tanks, floor slabs, sanitary fixtures, walls, washing equipment, water tanks, roofs, and mobile devices. They are classified by structural form into single-unit and composite structures; by mobility into hoisting and transportable types, and power-towed types; and by sewage treatment method into water-flush, non-water-flush suction, recirculating water-flush, and dry-pack types. When selecting a type, consider the usage scenario, occupant density, and environmental requirements. For example, dry-pack types are preferred for construction sites to reduce sewage treatment complexity, while recirculating water-flush types are recommended for high-traffic scenarios like concerts to enhance usage efficiency.

II. Emergency Call System Setup

  1. Device Installation: Call buttons should be installed in conspicuous and easily accessible locations (e.g., beside toilets). Signal transmission modules can be wireless (low-power transmitters) or wired, depending on site conditions. The receiving terminal should be placed in the management center and equipped with positioning functionality.
  2. System Debugging: For wired transmission, check line stability; for wireless transmission, test signal coverage. The receiving terminal should be configured with sound alarms, flashing indicators, and call recording functions, and optionally integrated with a monitoring system for real-time video switching.
  3. Maintenance Management: Regularly inspect button sensitivity, signal transmission, and terminal status; educate users on proper usage methods; establish an emergency response process to ensure staff arrive within 2 hours of receiving a call.

III. Setup Considerations for Different Scenarios

  1. Concert Scenarios: Allocate 1 standard toilet per 500-800 spectators, with a female-to-male ratio of 1.2:1, and 1 accessible toilet per 10 standard toilets. Deploy temporary mobile toilets during peak times (1 hour before start, 30 minutes after end). Lay anti-slip mats and set up rain shelters on rainy days. Clearly specify equipment failure response times and safety responsibilities in contracts.
  2. Construction Site Scenarios: Set up 1 toilet per 50-80 workers in construction areas and 1 group (2-3 compartments) per 100 people in living areas. Keep toilets at least 3 meters away from construction machinery and temporary electrical facilities. Prioritize eco-friendly toilets with sewage treatment capabilities and increase backup toilets by 10%-15% during peak construction periods.
