Mobile Toilet Self-Service QR Code Access Control
The mobile toilet self-service QR code access control system is an intelligent management system that combines QR code payment with access control. Its core functions and operational logic are as follows:

1. Basic Functions and Operational Process
Users need to scan the QR code on the toilet door with their mobile phones and complete payment before they can push the door open and enter. After successful payment, the mobile phone screen will display two options: 'Open' and 'End Order', and the system will start a countdown (usually for a fixed duration). The toilet door will automatically lock after 5 seconds to prevent unauthorized entry by external individuals. If the user does not actively click 'End Order', the system will automatically settle the fee after the countdown ends.
2. Design Purpose and Problem Solving
This system primarily addresses two types of issues:
- Queue Efficiency: By using QR code payment and automatic door locking, it reduces manual management costs and avoids congestion caused by queuing or payment disputes.
- Occupancy Duration: The countdown mechanism limits the duration of a single use, preventing individuals from occupying the toilet for an extended period and affecting other users.
However, the system also retains a human-centered design: After the countdown ends, users can still continue using the toilet by manually locking it from the inside, avoiding forced exit due to special circumstances (such as physical discomfort).
3. Price Adjustments and Operational Logic
The system's pricing has undergone multiple adjustments:
- Initial Pricing of 6 Yuan: Due to the low cost, some users occupied the toilet for extended periods, making cleaning and maintenance difficult. Operators were forced to raise the price.
- Adjustment to 10 Yuan: By clearly displaying the price, it balances operational costs with usage efficiency. After payment, the mobile phone screen clearly shows the fee and options, enhancing transparency.
- Temporary Reduction to 2 Yuan: Operators may have briefly lowered the price due to insufficient foot traffic or testing needs, but ultimately suspended use due to operational issues.
4. Suspension of Use and Potential Reasons
Currently, this public toilet has been suspended from operation, possibly due to the following factors:
- Technical Failures: The QR code payment or access control system may have stability issues, affecting the user experience.
- Pricing Disputes: Price fluctuations (such as from 10 Yuan to 2 Yuan) may raise user doubts about service quality.
- Maintenance Costs: High-frequency use increases cleaning difficulty, or equipment wear and tear exceeds expectations, leading operators to suspend service for optimization.
This system reflects the exploration of intelligent management in public facilities, but it requires finding a balance between efficiency, cost, and user experience.
