Mobile Toilet Scan to Open
The implementation methods for scan-to-open mobile toilets vary by region, with Fujian and Shanghai being two typical models.

Some mobile public toilets in Fujian: A QR code is prominently displayed outside the toilet door, labeled with the words 'Scan to Open the Door'. There are also prompts such as 'The door will automatically lock after 5 seconds'. After scanning the code, users enter the 'Xiaoxun Smart Control Center' WeChat mini-program, where the interface indicates a charge of 10 yuan for 10 minutes of use (currently adjusted to 2 yuan). After successful payment, a pop-up page on the phone offers options to 'Open' or 'End the Order'. Clicking 'Open' allows normal use of the toilet. Meanwhile, the phone screen displays a countdown. If the usage exceeds the time limit, users can choose to renew the payment or stop and end the order midway. The operator of this public toilet once stated that the original price was 6 yuan, but it was increased to 10 yuan due to the difficulty in cleaning caused by a high number of users. To prevent long queues and excessive occupation by individuals, a countdown system was implemented. However, the toilet can still be used after the time limit as there is a manual lock inside. Currently, the container is temporarily out of service.
The mobile public toilet at the intersection of Century Avenue and Yanggao Middle Road in Pudong, Shanghai: This is the first nighttime scan-to-open public toilet in Shanghai. After the cleaning staff finishes work at 9 pm, the toilet switches to night mode. Passersby need to first scan the first QR code beside the toilet door for registration, and then scan another QR code beside the door to open it. Once inside, the door automatically locks. After using the toilet, pressing the door-opening button beside the door will open it. During the two-week trial period, over 100 people have used the toilet late at night. Moreover, if a user does not exit after 15 minutes, the system will automatically 'alarm' and notify the night shift staff to contact the user to ensure the safety of the user and the normal order of toilet use.
