Refilling Mobile Toilets with Water

Admin October 01, 2026

The methods for refilling mobile toilets with water vary depending on the type, as detailed below:

1. Mobile Public Toilet Vehicles
Mobile public toilet vehicles are typically equipped with independent water tanks, and there are two main methods for refilling them:

  • Pump Water Inlet: By connecting to an external water source (such as a fire hydrant or tap water pipeline), the onboard water pump is used to draw water into the tank. This method is suitable for scenarios requiring large amounts of water or rapid refilling. During operation, ensure a tight connection between the pump and the water source to prevent leaks.
  • Manhole Cover Refilling on the Tank Top: If the top of the water tank is equipped with a manhole cover, the cover can be directly opened, and water can be poured into the tank using a funnel or hose. This method is simple to operate, but care must be taken to control the water flow rate to prevent splashing or overflow. After refilling, close the manhole cover and check its tightness to ensure no leaks occur during transportation.

2. Standalone Mobile Toilets
The water refilling operation for standalone mobile toilets is relatively simple, mainly involving filling the freshwater tank:

  • Open the Water Inlet: First, locate the water inlet of the toilet's freshwater tank (usually located at the back or side of the toilet) and open the cover by rotating it counterclockwise or pressing it.
  • Add Freshwater and Cleaning Agents: Use a bucket or hose to pour an appropriate amount of freshwater into the freshwater tank. If enhanced cleaning is required, add specialized cleaning agents (such as foam agents or deodorizers) according to the instructions, avoiding the use of strongly corrosive or pipe-blocking chemicals.
  • Tighten the Flush Cap: After refilling, close the water inlet by rotating it clockwise or pressing it, and ensure the flush cap (located on the front or top of the toilet) is tightened to prevent leaks. Some models require testing the water flow by pressing the flush cap.

3. Mobile Eco-Friendly Public Toilets
Mobile eco-friendly public toilets are designed with a focus on water conservation and environmental protection. Their flushing systems typically achieve water recycling by automatically collecting hand-washing water, and no dedicated water refilling operation is set up:

  • Hand-Washing Water Recycling: The wastewater from hand washing is filtered and disinfected before being stored in a dedicated tank for subsequent toilet flushing. This method reduces reliance on external water sources, but regular inspection of the filtration device is necessary to prevent clogging or odors.
  • Addition of Specialized Agents: Some eco-friendly public toilets require regular addition of specialized agents (such as biological enzymes or deodorizers) to the flushing system to maintain pipe cleanliness and odor control. The addition method varies by model and is usually injected through a designated port, with specific instructions provided in the product manual.

Precautions:

  • Before refilling, ensure that the power or water source interface of the mobile toilet complies with safety standards to prevent electric shock or damage to the equipment due to excessive water pressure.
  • After use in winter, drain any residual water from the water tank and pipes to prevent damage from freezing and expansion.
  • Regularly clean the water tank and freshwater tank to prevent the accumulation of scale or impurities that may affect flushing performance.
