Mobile Toilet Quantity Settings

Admin September 28, 2026

The number of mobile toilets to be set up should be comprehensively determined based on the scale of the event, the type of venue, and the volume of foot traffic. The specific standards are as follows:

I. Classification by Event Scale

  1. Small-scale Events (Under 100 people)

    • Configuration Standard: Set up 1-2 mobile toilets for every 50 people.
    • Specific Recommendations: For events with fewer than 50 people, one single-occupancy toilet will suffice. For events with 50-100 people, it is recommended to set up two single-occupancy toilets or one double-occupancy toilet, and reserve one spare toilet to handle emergencies (such as equipment failure or a sudden increase in the number of people).
  2. Medium-scale Events (100-500 people)

    • Configuration Standard: Set up 2-3 toilets for every 100 people.
    • Specific Recommendations: For a 200-person event, it is recommended to have two double-occupancy toilets and one single-occupancy toilet. For events with more than 300 people, the number should be increased to 4-5. The recommended ratio of male to female toilet stalls is 1:1.5, and one accessible toilet should be provided to enhance convenience.
  3. Large-scale Events (Over 500 people)

    • Configuration Standard: Set up 3-5 mobile toilets for every 100 people.
    • Specific Recommendations: For a 1000-person event, it is recommended to have three double-occupancy toilets, three single-occupancy toilets, and one accessible toilet. During peak hours, additional temporary handwashing stations can be added to alleviate queuing pressure.

II. Configuration for Special Venues

  1. Long-term Use Venues such as Construction Sites and Scenic Spots

    • Configuration Standard: Set up one toilet for every 30-50 people.
    • Precautions: Consider the frequency of use and the cleaning and maintenance cycle to avoid sanitation issues caused by insufficient toilet stalls.
  2. Campsites

    • Configuration Standard: Set up one toilet stall for every 20 people, along with shower rooms.
    • Spare Quantity: Reserve 10% spare toilet stalls to handle equipment failure or a sudden increase in the number of people.
  3. Municipal Events or Engineering Scenes in Jingdezhen

    • Configuration Standard: Set up 1-2 mobile toilets for every 100 people. For large-scale events (such as the Ceramic Culture Festival or marathon events), the number of people should be counted in advance and the configuration increased proportionally.
  4. High Foot Traffic Venues (such as Music Festivals and Exhibitions)

    • Configuration Standard: Set up one toilet stall for every 30-40 people, and appropriately increase the number of mobile toilets to shorten queuing times.

III. Key Principles

  • Dynamic Adjustment: Flexibly increase or decrease the number of toilet stalls based on the actual volume of foot traffic and the duration of the event. For example, extending the event duration requires increasing the cleaning frequency or the number of toilet stalls.
  • Accessible Design: At least one accessible toilet should be provided in all venues to meet the needs of special groups.
  • Spare Mechanism: Reserve 10%-20% spare toilet stalls to ensure basic services can still be maintained in emergencies.
