Mobile Toilet Public Restroom
Mobile toilet public restrooms, also known as mobile toilets, are movable public restroom facilities. The following provides an introduction from the aspects of composition, classification, applicable venues, characteristics, and practical application cases.

Composition: Mobile toilets are generally composed of fecal sewage storage tanks (or fecal sewage treatment devices), floor slabs, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tanks, roofs, and mobile devices. These components work together to provide users with a complete restroom environment.
Classification:
- By structural form: They can be divided into single-structure mobile toilets and composite-structure mobile toilets. Single-structure ones are relatively simple and independent, while composite-structure ones may be composed of multiple parts and may have richer functions.
- By moving method: There are lifting and handling mobile toilets, which mainly rely on lifting equipment or manual handling for movement; and powered and towed mobile toilets, which can be moved more conveniently and efficiently with the help of power devices or vehicles.
- By sewage treatment method: They are classified into water-flush and non-water-flush suction mobile toilets. Water-flush ones are cleaned by water flow, while non-water-flush suction ones use suction devices to treat feces; recirculating water-flush mobile toilets can recycle the flushing water to save water resources; and dry-packing mobile toilets pack the feces in a dry form.
Applicable venues: They are suitable for stations, docks, tourist attractions, villa areas, newly built residential areas, large construction sites, squares, densely populated public places, and bustling commercial streets. These places have a large flow of people, and the demand for restroom facilities is temporary or flexible. Mobile toilets can well meet these needs.
Characteristics: They can be conveniently transported to any place where a restroom needs to be set up and can be used repeatedly. They have the advantages of being movable, combinable, and easy to transport.
Practical application cases: In Dalian City, mobile public restrooms are flexibly deployed during peak tourist seasons to alleviate the restroom pressure in areas with a high flow of people. During the May Day holiday in 2026, the Jinci Scenic Area in Shanxi flexibly deployed buses as mobile men's restrooms and temporarily converted fixed men's restrooms into women's restrooms, increasing the average daily reception capacity of restrooms in the area from about 3,000 person-times to about 5,000 person-times.
