How to Connect Pipes for Mobile Toilets
Admin October 11, 2026
The connection of pipes for mobile toilets should be designed according to specific scenarios and drainage methods, with core steps including material selection, routing planning, slope control, and connection to municipal sewer networks. The specific operations are as follows:

I. Basic Conditions and Material Selection
- Pipe Specifications: The diameter of the main sewage pipe should be ≥110mm, and the diameter of branch pipes should be ≥75mm to ensure sufficient drainage flow for usage needs.
- Material Requirements: Priority should be given to using PVC pipes or HDPE pipes, both of which are corrosion-resistant, have strong pressure resistance, and a long service life. Special adhesives or hot-melt connections should be used at joints to ensure tightness and prevent leakage.
- Burial Depth: The pipe burial depth should generally be ≥500mm. In cold regions, it should be appropriately deepened to prevent freezing and cracking, while avoiding underground obstacles.
II. Pipe Routing and Slope Design
- Routing Planning: The pipe routing should match the layout of the mobile toilet, minimizing bends and intersections to reduce the risk of blockage. If bends are necessary, 45° elbows or large-radius elbows should be used to avoid right-angle bends.
- Slope Control: The drainage slope should be ≥3‰ (i.e., a drop of 3mm per meter) to ensure natural flow of sewage. In low-lying areas or at the end of the system, drainage wells or lifting devices should be installed to prevent water accumulation and backflow.
III. Connection to Municipal Sewer Networks
- Priority Connection: If conditions permit, the pipes should be connected to the municipal sewage network. Prior communication and approval from the local drainage authority are required.
- Temporary Treatment: If connection to the municipal sewer network is not possible, temporary sewage treatment facilities (such as septic tanks or integrated sewage treatment equipment) should be installed. The sewage should be treated to meet standards before discharge to avoid environmental pollution.
IV. Construction and Maintenance Points
- Installation and Fixing: Pipes should be firmly fixed during installation to prevent displacement or deformation. The spacing between supports and hangers should comply with regulations (e.g., ≤1.5 meters for PVC pipes).
- Regular Inspection: Check the pipes quarterly for blockages or leaks, with a focus on drainage capacity before the rainy season. Avoid using sharp tools during cleaning to prevent scratching the pipes.
- Anti-Freezing Measures: In cold regions, exposed pipes should be wrapped with insulation materials or equipped with electric tracing systems to prevent freezing and cracking.
V. Connection Methods for Sanitary Fixtures (General)
If pipe connections for sanitary fixtures (such as toilets or sinks) are involved, the following methods can be used:
- Create Pipe: Modify parameters using the software's 'Create Pipe' button and drag to the connection point.
- Pipe Command: Set the pipe diameter and height, then click and drag from the sanitary fixture's connection point.
- Right-Click Drawing: Right-click at the connection point and select 'Draw pipe', then modify parameters and connect.
- Auto-Connect: Drag the pipe and press the spacebar to directly connect to an existing pipe.
Note: The specific method should be adjusted according to the drainage method of the mobile toilet (such as same-floor drainage or inter-floor drainage) and site conditions. It is recommended that professional personnel perform the operations to ensure compliance.
