Mobile Toilet Partition Material Selection

Admin October 08, 2026

The selection of materials for mobile toilet partitions should be comprehensively evaluated based on the usage scenario, budget, and functional requirements. Common materials include metals, composite materials, and plastics, with specific characteristics and applicable scenarios as follows:

1. Metal Materials

  • Galvanized Steel Sheet: The surface galvanized layer (thickness ≥ 20μm) effectively prevents rust, withstands salt spray tests for ≥ 500 hours, and has a yield strength of ≥ 235MPa. It is suitable for high-traffic, high-intensity usage scenarios (such as urban public toilets and transportation hubs), especially in humid environments (like coastal areas). However, it is relatively heavy (about 7.8kg/m²) and requires soundproof cotton filling to enhance sound insulation.
  • Stainless Steel (304/316): 304 stainless steel is resistant to general corrosion, while 316 stainless steel, containing molybdenum, offers stronger resistance to seawater and industrial acid-base corrosion. Its surface can be brushed, mirrored, or sandblasted, with a yield strength of ≥ 205MPa, but its cost is about twice that of galvanized steel sheets. It is suitable for high-end scenic spots, hospitals, airports, and other scenarios with extremely high hygiene and durability requirements, as well as strongly corrosive environments (like chemical parks).

2. Composite Materials

  • High-Pressure Laminate (HPL): Made by impregnating kraft paper with phenolic resin and then forming it under high temperature and pressure, with a thickness of 12-25mm and a density of 1.3-1.5g/cm³. It is water-resistant, scratch-resistant (Mohs hardness ≥ 5), and acid-base resistant (pH 2-12). Its surface can be covered with decorative films such as wood grain or stone grain, combining aesthetics with durability. It is suitable for medium- to high-traffic scenarios like shopping malls, schools, and scenic spots, as well as humid environments (such as bathrooms and areas around swimming pools).
  • Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP): Using glass fiber as the reinforcing material and resin as the matrix, with a density of 1.5-2.0g/cm³. It can be molded in one piece to reduce seams, has strong corrosion resistance (can withstand strong acids like hydrochloric and sulfuric acid), and excellent impact resistance (no cracks in drop ball impact tests), but its surface is easily scratched. It is suitable for strongly corrosive environments like chemical parks and sewage treatment plants, as well as temporary events (such as music festivals and exhibitions) requiring quick assembly and disassembly.

3. Plastic Materials

  • High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE): It has cost advantages and is easy to process, but its specific characteristics (such as corrosion resistance and strength) need to be further evaluated based on product parameters. It is suitable for scenarios with limited budgets and low durability requirements, such as temporary toilets or low-traffic areas.

Selection Recommendations:

  • Humid or strongly corrosive environments: Prioritize stainless steel (316) or fiberglass reinforced plastic.
  • High-traffic public scenarios: Galvanized steel sheets or high-pressure laminates offer better cost-effectiveness.
  • Temporary or low-cost needs: Consider plastic materials like HDPE.
Material selection should balance performance, cost, and maintenance convenience to ensure long-term usage effectiveness.
