On-site Fabrication of Mobile Toilets

The on-site fabrication of mobile toilets can be carried out using water storage barrels following the steps below:

I. Foundation Structure Construction

1. Water Storage Barrel Modification: Use an angle grinder to split the water storage barrel vertically in the middle, creating two semi-circular barrel bodies to serve as the main frame of the toilet.
2. Mobile Device Installation: Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board to ensure overall flexibility in movement.
3. Height Adjustment: Use self-tapping screws to secure wooden strips along the upper edge of the barrel body, forming an elevated structure to provide support for subsequent wall installation.
4. Doorway Creation: Use an angle grinder to cut out a doorway on the side of the barrel body, reserving space for door frame installation.

II. Wall and Roof Construction

1. Door Frame Reinforcement: Install sponge strips on both sides of the doorway to form a load-bearing door frame structure.
2. Wall Installation: Insert plastic soft panels into the gaps between the wooden strips to form a waterproof wall; invert the upper half of the water storage barrel and place it on top of the wooden strips to serve as the roof covering.
3. Surface Treatment: Apply white waterproof paint to the wooden strips to enhance aesthetics and extend service life.

III. Functional Component Installation

1. Door Fabrication: Use foam strips to拼接 (join) two discarded honeycomb wooden boards, forming a simple door panel and securing it to the door frame.
2. Drainage System:
   • Drill a hole at the bottom of the barrel and install a drain pipe to form a floor drain;
   • Drill holes on the side to connect direct fittings, drill another hole at the bottom to install another fitting, and insert a plastic bucket as a water storage device.
3. Bathroom Fixtures:
   • Assemble the water pipe and heater, install a three-way fitting below the inlet pipe and connect a showerhead;
   • Place the toilet over the drain pipe hole, install the water tank, and secure it with glass glue;
   • Connect the drain pipe to the sewage bucket to ensure a smooth path for wastewater discharge.
4. Handwashing Device: Extend a water pipe horizontally from the three-way fitting of the outlet pipe to the doorway to serve as the inlet pipe, connect an external fitting and a hose; drill a hole in the door and install corresponding components to form a simple handwashing basin.

IV. System Debugging
Check the tightness of all connections to ensure no leakage in the drainage and water supply systems; test the flexibility of the mobile device and verify the overall structural stability. This method enables rapid deployment through modular assembly, suitable for temporary venues or emergency scenarios, but attention should be paid to the waterproofness of materials and the load-bearing capacity of the structure.
