What Materials Are Used for Mobile Toilets
Common materials used for mobile toilets include metal materials, plastic/composite materials, wood materials, rock wool sandwich panels, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) panels, etc. The specific choice should be made based on functional requirements, usage scenarios, and cost considerations.

Metal materials are the preferred choice for the core supporting structures of mobile toilets. Aluminum alloy is lightweight (with a density only one-third that of steel), highly corrosion-resistant, and has significant anti-rust effects after oxidation treatment or fluorocarbon spraying on its surface. It is also easy to process and shape, often used for skeletons and frames, with typical application weights controlled at 3-5kg/m². Stainless steel, due to its extremely strong corrosion resistance, is mostly used for hardware in the toilet interior (such as water tanks, water pipes), door hinges, and some exterior finishes, especially suitable for coastal, high-humidity, or chemically corrosive environments. However, its cost is relatively high (about 1.5-2 times that of aluminum alloy), and it is difficult to process, usually only used for small-area components.
Plastic/composite materials are widely used in interior decoration and structures. PVC panels, due to their waterproof, moisture-proof, and easy-to-clean properties, are often used for interior partitions, wall panels, and ceiling panels. Their surfaces can be printed with patterns to enhance aesthetics. With a density of about 1.4-1.6g/cm³, they are lightweight and low-cost (about 50-150 yuan per square meter), but products that meet environmental standards (such as RoHS) should be selected. Fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP), composed of resin and glass fibers, has strength close to that of steel but weighs only one-fourth to one-third of steel. It is corrosion-resistant and aging-resistant, suitable as an outer shell or overall structure, but its surface is easily scratched and has high repair costs, requiring regular maintenance.
Wood materials are mostly used for decoration in specific scenarios. Preservative-treated wood, after pressure treatment, can be used for interior decoration or exterior frames, with a strong natural texture and easy processing. However, it needs to be regularly coated with preservative paint and may deform in high-humidity environments. It is generally used in scenic spots, homestays, and other scenarios with high aesthetic requirements and is not recommended as a structural material. Ecological wood, composed of wood powder and plastic, combines the appearance of wood with the durability of plastic, with better waterproof and insect-resistant properties than natural wood. However, its heat resistance is poor, and it should avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight. Its price is about 1.2-1.5 times that of preservative-treated wood, suitable for scenarios that pursue a natural style but have a limited budget.
Among other materials, rock wool sandwich panels are used for ceiling panels or partition walls. The internal filling of rock wool (with a density ≥80kg/m³) can effectively provide sound insulation and heat insulation, with a fire rating of Class A, suitable for densely populated areas. High-density polyethylene (HDPE) panels, due to their high strength, impact resistance, and UV resistance, are often used for bottom and exterior decoration, with a price of about 200-500 yuan per square meter. In addition, specific cases also adopt schemes such as welding the main body with galvanized square tubes and galvanized steel plates, applying high-temperature spray coating on the surface, laying anti-slip tiles on the interior floor, and using bamboo-wood fiber panels for the walls.
