Mobile Toilet Material Selection

Admin September 21, 2026

The selection of materials for mobile toilets should be based on the requirements of the scenario, taking into account durability, corrosion resistance, portability, and environmental friendliness. Common materials and their applicable scenarios are as follows:

1. Metal Materials

  1. Aluminum Alloy:
    • Characteristics: With a density only one-third that of steel, it has strong corrosion resistance. Its surface can be enhanced for rust prevention through oxidation treatment or fluorocarbon spraying, and it is easy to process and shape.
    • Applicable Scenarios: Frequently moved or long-term exposure to humid environments (such as coastal areas and construction sites during the rainy season), often used for frame structures or exterior finishes.
  2. Stainless Steel:
    • Characteristics: It has extremely strong corrosion resistance but is relatively expensive (about 1.5-2 times the cost of aluminum alloy) and difficult to process.
    • Applicable Scenarios: High-humidity or chemically corrosive environments (such as around chemical plants), often used for internal hardware (water tanks, water pipes), door hinges, and some exterior finishes.

2. Plastic/Composite Materials

  1. PVC Board:
    • Characteristics: It is waterproof, moisture-proof, and easy to clean. Its surface can be printed with patterns to enhance aesthetics. It has a low density (1.4-1.6g/cm³) and a low cost (about 50-150 yuan per square meter), but products that meet environmental standards (such as RoHS) should be selected.
    • Applicable Scenarios: Large-scale application scenarios (such as temporary events and construction sites), often used for interior decoration or partitions.
  2. Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP):
    • Characteristics: Composed of resin and glass fiber, it has a strength close to that of steel and a weight only one-fourth to one-third that of steel. It is corrosion-resistant and aging-resistant, but its surface is easily scratched and the repair cost is high.
    • Applicable Scenarios: Toilet shells or overall structures (such as in scenic spots and remote areas), suitable for long-term fixed use.

3. Wood Materials

  1. Preservative-Treated Wood:
    • Characteristics: After pressure treatment, it has insect-resistant and moisture-proof properties and a strong natural texture, but it requires regular application of preservative coatings and may deform in high-humidity environments.
    • Applicable Scenarios: Scenarios with high aesthetic requirements (such as scenic spots and homestays), used for interior decoration or external frames.
  2. Eco-Wood:
    • Characteristics: Composed of wood powder and plastic, it has better waterproof and insect-resistant properties than natural wood but has poor heat resistance and is about 1.2-1.5 times the price of preservative-treated wood.
    • Applicable Scenarios: Scenarios that pursue a natural style but have a limited budget (such as rural tourist spots), and should avoid long-term direct sunlight.

4. Other Materials

  1. Rock Wool Sandwich Panel:
    • Characteristics: Filled with rock wool inside (density ≥ 80kg/m³), it has significant sound insulation and heat insulation effects and a fire rating of Class A.
    • Applicable Scenarios: Crowded areas (such as large exhibitions and stations), used for roof panels or partitions.
  2. High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Board:
    • Characteristics: It has high strength, impact resistance, and UV resistance, with a price of about 200-500 yuan per square meter.
    • Applicable Scenarios: Toilet bottoms and exterior decoration (such as in deserts, plateaus, and other extreme environments).
