Mobile Toilet Installed in Car

Admin September 27, 2026

The situation of installing a mobile toilet in a car does exist, but it has certain limitations.

Practical Application Cases

Seres has applied for a utility model patent for a "vehicle-mounted toilet and vehicle". Its vehicle-mounted toilet adopts a slide-rail design. It is usually hidden under the driver's and passenger's seats. When in use, it can be pulled out with one click and pushed back into place after use. This design addresses the toilet needs of users during long-distance travel and highway traffic jams, taking advantage of the long range of new energy vehicles suitable for long-distance self-driving trips. It is also equipped with a 5L sealed waste collection tank, a negative-pressure deodorization system, a constant-temperature heating function, disposable toilet bags, and a foldable privacy curtain. In addition, in 2024, OXCO introduced a vehicle-mounted toilet accessory that can be placed in the central storage compartment. Simply open the lid and place a toilet seat cover to use it. However, the founder of OXCO admitted that this is essentially an emergency accessory. Seres' patent is different from that of OXCO, reflecting a "systematic thinking" approach. It designs the toilet as an integral part of the vehicle structure, with the seat layout and slide-rail tracks specially designed for this function.

Existing Problems

  • Low usage frequency: For most car owners, this function is completely unnecessary for daily commuting. Even for long-distance travel, there is a service area every 60 - 100 kilometers on the highway, and it is rare to be unable to find a toilet.
  • Poor toilet experience: The interior space of a car is narrow. Completing the process of pulling out the toilet, putting on a toilet seat cover, using it, cleaning it, and storing it in such a narrow space takes at least 5 to 10 minutes, making the operation inconvenient.
  • Difficulty in isolating odors: Even with a negative-pressure deodorization system, it is difficult to completely isolate odors in a closed car compartment, affecting the interior air quality.
  • Limited privacy: Although equipped with a foldable privacy curtain, the independent space inside the car is limited, making it difficult to provide a completely private toilet environment.
