How to Install a Mobile Toilet

Admin October 08, 2026

The installation of a mobile toilet (马桶) depends on whether a offset connector is involved. Here are the specific steps:

I. Installation Process Involving an Offset Connector

  1. Pre-processing of the Offset Connector

    • Measurement and Cutting: Measure the distance according to the actual shifting needs of the toilet, and use a saw to cut the main body of the offset connector to an appropriate length (e.g., for long-distance shifting, raise the pipe by about 5mm every 100mm).
    • Component Connection: Use special glue to firmly connect the main body of the offset connector with components such as elbows to ensure tightness.
    • Floor Grooving and Fixing: Groove the floor (width slightly larger than the offset connector), embed the offset connector, and then fix it. If a new type of offset connector is used, its flange can directly cooperate with the connecting seat on the main body and be fixed to the floor with cement without the need for expansion screws.
  2. Installation Details of the Offset Connector

    • Slope Control: The longer the shifting distance, the greater the required slope. Generally, it is recommended to maintain a slope of 5% for drainage. For example, when using a flat-pipe offset connector (height about 50-60mm), the grooving depth should be about 20-40mm. Subsequently, level the floor and tile it to make it basically level with the final floor height, reducing the floor elevation amplitude.
    • Floor Adjustment: Depending on the shifting distance and the type of offset connector, it may be necessary to elevate the floor or groove it downwards. For long-distance shifting (e.g., using a flat pipe), ensure that the proportion of pipe elevation meets the standard.
  3. Toilet Installation

    • After the offset connector is fixed, align the toilet with the flange of the offset connector and evenly tighten the bolts to fix it, avoiding tilting.
    • Connect the water inlet pipe and check the tightness to ensure no leakage.

II. Installation Process of an Ordinary Mobile Toilet (No Shifting Required)

  1. Unpacking and Inspection

    • After opening the package, check the list of accessories (such as the toilet body, flange, bolts, sealing rings, etc.) to ensure there are no missing or damaged parts.
  2. Basic Installation

    • Align the flange with the center of the drain outlet and fix it to the floor with cement or special glue (new designs may directly connect the flange to the floor).
    • Place the toilet body steadily on the flange and evenly tighten the bolts at the bottom to ensure a tight fit with the floor.
  3. Sealing and Testing

    • Apply waterproof glass glue at the contact point between the toilet and the floor to prevent sewage leakage.
    • Connect the water inlet pipe, open the water valve, and flush 2-3 times to check whether the drainage is smooth and whether there is any leakage.

III. Key Precautions

  • Limitations on the Use of Offset Connectors: Excessive shifting distance may lead to poor drainage. It is recommended to prioritize direct-drain installation. If shifting is necessary, strictly calculate the slope and reserve an inspection port.
  • Tightness Inspection: Apply special sealant to all connection points (such as the interface of the offset connector and the toilet flange) to avoid odors or leakage.
  • Floor Treatment: Ensure the floor is flat and dry before installation. If an offset connector is used, complete grooving or elevation work in advance.
