How to Install Mobile Toilets for the Elderly
Admin October 02, 2026
There are several installation methods for mobile toilets (commodes) used by the elderly, and you can choose the appropriate one based on the specific product type:

Basic Installation Process (for regular commodes)
- Install the commode flange: Place the commode flange above the drain pipe opening, ensuring that the center of the flange aligns with the center of the drain pipe. Then, place the commode steadily on the flange, ensuring accurate and stable positioning. This step is crucial for connecting the commode to the drainage system. If the flange is not installed correctly, it may lead to drainage issues or leaks.
- Install the angle valve and connect the water inlet components: Install the angle valve, which is used to control the water flow into the commode. Then, use a tee to connect the water inlet and the spray head, ensuring a tight and leak-free connection. The tee distributes the water flow reasonably to the water inlet system and the spray head system of the commode.
- Connect the water inlet hose: Screw the commode's water inlet hose onto the corresponding interface, making sure to tighten it to prevent the hose from detaching and causing leaks during use.
- Assemble the commode spray head: Tighten the sealing rubber rings at both ends of the commode spray head to ensure a good seal and prevent leaks. After assembly, connect the spray head to the other end of the tee.
- Install the spray head bracket: Forcefully snap the spray head bracket onto the top of the tee, ensuring that the bracket is installed firmly and can stably support the spray head.
- Test the water and apply sealant: After completing the above installation steps, test the commode's water flow to check for any leaks at the connection points and ensure that the commode's flushing and other functions are normal. If there are no issues during the water test, apply sealant along the edge where the commode bottom contacts the floor to provide fixation and sealing.
Basic Installation (for simple mobile commodes)
- Install silicone anti-slip pads: Insert silicone anti-slip pads into the four corners at the bottom of the mobile commode. These pads increase the friction between the commode and the floor, preventing the commode from sliding during use and ensuring the safety of the elderly.
- Assemble the upper and lower buckets: Align the upper and lower buckets, then press down on the buckles to secure them, firmly assembling the upper and lower buckets together. This installation method is relatively simple and suitable for the elderly to operate on their own.
Simple Six-Step Installation (for some mobile commodes with instructions)
After receiving the mobile commode, open the package and carefully check that all the accessories are complete. Once you confirm that the accessories are correct, you can start the installation. Follow the instructions provided with the product strictly for the specific steps. Different brands and models of mobile commodes may have differences in details, and following the instructions ensures the correctness and safety of the installation.
