Mobile Toilet Installation

Admin September 21, 2026

The installation of mobile toilets requires comprehensive consideration of site selection, facility provision, area division, supporting facilities, management and maintenance, and approval processes, with specific requirements as follows:

Site Selection Requirements
They should be located away from pollution sources (such as garbage stations and drainage ditches), ensuring a solid and level ground for easy equipment transportation and maintenance. They should be in densely populated and easily accessible areas, no more than 100 meters from the main activity area, while avoiding water sources, kitchens, entrances/exits, and fire exits. Low-lying and flood-prone areas should be avoided to prevent equipment damage from immersion. A safe distance should be maintained from other temporary facilities (such as stages and dining areas) to reduce noise and odor interference. According to the 'Urban Environmental Sanitation Facility Planning Code', the spacing between toilets should be controlled within 50 meters to avoid inconvenience in use.

Facility Provision and Functions
Each toilet should be equipped with basic items such as sinks, toilet paper, and hand soap, with heating devices installed in winter. The quantity should be configured based on foot traffic: typically, 1-2 standard toilets are needed per 100 people, or 1 mobile toilet per 50 people. For large events, it is recommended to add 1 spare toilet for every 30-50 people. The appearance of the facilities should harmonize with the surrounding environment, with priority given to modular products made of eco-friendly materials.

Area Division
Male and female toilets should be set up separately, with a minimum distance of 2 meters between them, and signs indicating their locations (e.g., blue for male toilets and pink for female toilets). If the event involves people with disabilities, 1 accessible toilet should be reserved, equipped with handrails and hooks, and located near the main passage for easy wheelchair access. The site should be well-ventilated and relatively concealed, avoiding direct sunlight and rain immersion. It can be shaded by planting greenery or setting up simple canopies, but ensuring that it does not affect use.

Supporting Facilities
A cleaning area should be set up beside the toilets, equipped with trash cans, disinfectants, and spare toilet paper, with dedicated personnel assigned for regular cleaning. Emergency lights should be installed for nighttime events, with usage instructions and emergency contact information posted at the entrance. Sunshades can be added in hot weather. Ensure that the bottom drainage is unobstructed, elevate the foundation during the rainy season to prevent water accumulation, regularly spray mosquito repellent, and set up mosquito killers to reduce mosquito nuisance.

Management and Maintenance Specifications
The lessee should clean and disinfect the toilets daily, assign dedicated personnel for inspections, keep the toilets clean inside and out during the event, and promptly replenish consumables. The municipal department will regularly inspect the operation of the facilities and require rectification or replacement of non-compliant equipment.

Approval Process and Timeline
An application should be submitted to the local environmental sanitation department 7 working days in advance before use, providing the event plan, site layout, and other materials. After approval, the equipment should be deployed in the designated area in a standardized manner, and the equipment should be removed and the site restored within 48 hours after the event ends.
