Mobile Toilets in Huizhou

Admin September 20, 2026

Mobile toilets in Huizhou mainly include two scenarios: the rental of ordinary mobile restrooms and the application of 'tide toilets'.

Ordinary Mobile Restrooms

  • Design and Materials: They adopt a modular design, with the main body made of high-strength plastic or stainless steel. The walls, roof, and internal components are detachable, enabling quick assembly and disassembly within a short time. No fixed foundation is required, making them suitable for temporary site usage.
  • Internal Configuration: They are equipped with toilets, washbasins, water storage tanks, and sewage outlets. Some models feature independent compartments and ventilation systems.
  • Technical Implementation: The water supply system relies on external water source connections or built-in water storage tanks, with water flow supplied through pressure pumps. The drainage system uses sealed sewage storage tanks or temporary pipe connections, requiring regular extraction and cleaning. Ventilation technology mainly relies on natural air convection or the installation of small exhaust fans.
  • Application Scenarios: In the short term, they are commonly seen at temporary events such as outdoor celebrations, markets, or sports events. In the medium to long term, they are used in construction sites, scenic area expansions, and other settings. In special environments like remote areas or temporary isolation points, higher requirements are placed on sealing and anti-fouling treatment.
  • Rental Operation Mechanism: This covers the rental process, maintenance management, and cost composition. In Huizhou, regional adaptability characteristics also need to be considered. For example, terrain differences between coastal areas and mountainous regions may affect transportation and installation methods. Climate conditions have specific requirements for the wind and moisture resistance of the facilities. The scale of local events and population flow patterns influence the number of rentals and layout planning.

'Tide Toilets'

Huizhou West Lake Scenic Area once set up 'tide toilets' with the intention of alleviating the resource mismatch of long queues at women's toilets and idle men's toilets during peak hours. According to the scenic area's monitoring, after implementation, the waiting time for women to use the toilet during peak hours was shortened from more than 30 minutes to less than 10 minutes, indicating that this innovative exploration was effective. However, during the implementation process, the scenic area exposed problems such as insufficient management experience and inadequate privacy protection. For example, the originally set manually adjustable male and female signs were actually unattended, and tourists could freely slide and switch the gender display, which easily led to the situation of male and female tourists entering the wrong toilets and made it difficult to protect personal privacy. The scenic area subsequently removed all the adjustable signs and stated that it would achieve the functional switching of toilet areas by replacing door signs in the future.
