Mobile Toilet Home Tutorial

Admin September 22, 2026

A mobile toilet for home use can be made by combining a water storage bucket or tank with a pallet. Here is a detailed tutorial:

Making a Mobile Toilet Using a Water Storage Bucket

  1. Basic Structure Construction
Prepare a water storage bucket and split it in half with an angle grinder. Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board for easy overall movement. Attach wooden strips to the upper side of the bucket with self-tapping screws to increase its height to suit human use.

  2. Wall and Roof Installation
Cut an opening on the side of the water storage bucket for the door. Install sponge strips on both sides to form a door frame and embed plastic soft boards to create walls. Place the upper half of the water storage bucket on top of the wooden strips as the roof to cover the entire structure.

  3. Waterproofing and Drainage System
Apply white waterproof paint to the wooden strips to enhance aesthetics and extend their service life. Drill a hole at the bottom of the bucket and install a drain pipe to form a floor drain. Drill holes on the side and bottom to connect direct fittings and place them on the roof to create a small water storage device. The drain pipe should extend to a sewage bucket to ensure centralized sewage treatment.

  4. Functional Module Integration
Install a simple bathroom heater made of water pipes, connect a three-way fitting and a showerhead to provide bathing functions. Place a toilet on the drain pipe opening, install a water tank, and fix it with glass glue to prevent leakage. Connect a water pipe horizontally from the three-way fitting of the outlet pipe to the door as the inlet pipe for a washbasin to achieve washing functions.

Making a Mobile Toilet Using a Water Storage Tank and a Pallet

  1. Mobile Chassis Construction
Prepare a plastic pallet and fix universal wheels at its four corners to ensure a stable structure and flexible movement. Adjust the size of the pallet according to the size of the water storage tank to bear the overall weight.

  2. Combination of the Water Storage Tank and the Pallet
Place the water storage tank in the center of the pallet and secure it with buckles or straps to prevent sliding. Choose a corrosion-resistant material for the water storage tank and determine its capacity according to the number of users (e.g., it is recommended to choose a capacity of over 50L for single-person use).

  3. Functional Expansion (Optional)
If you need to add toilet functions, you can cut an opening at the top of the water storage tank, install a simple toilet seat ring, and connect a sewage bag or directly connect it to the sewer pipe below. If you need bathing functions, you can connect an external mobile water tank and a showerhead, but pay attention to waterproofing.

Precautions: Ensure the tightness of all connections during the production process to avoid water leakage. Wear protective equipment when using tools such as angle grinders. Regularly clean the sewage bucket to prevent the spread of odors.
