Mobile Toilet Handrail Size Diagram Explanation
Admin October 07, 2026
Although there is no direct diagram for mobile toilets, the following explanations are based on the relevant size specifications for barrier-free handrails in public toilets and restrooms:

Toilet Area
- Horizontal Handrail: The height above the ground is 700mm, and the length should not be less than 700mm. It is usually installed on both sides of the toilet to facilitate users in getting up and sitting down.
- Vertical Handrail: The height reaches 1400mm and is installed in front of the toilet on the side to provide an additional support point for users.
- Handrail Diameter: It is between 35 - 40mm. This size range conforms to ergonomics and offers a comfortable grip.
- Distance from the Wall: The handrail should be kept 40mm away from the wall to prevent users' hands from colliding with the wall during use.
- L-shaped Flip-up Model: The horizontal part has a length of 700mm, and the vertical part has a length of 850mm. This design can be flipped up when not in use to save space.
Washbasin Area
- Install a straight handrail with a height above the ground of 850mm and a length between 600 - 800mm to facilitate users in gripping while washing their hands and maintaining body balance.
- The distance between the handrail and the edge of the washbasin should be within 50mm to ensure that users can easily grab the handrail when approaching the washbasin.
Urinal Area
- Horizontal Bars on Both Sides: The height above the ground is 900mm, and the length is 550mm, providing support for users.
- Upper Vertical Bar: The height is 1200mm, further enhancing the stability of users.
- Width: The width of the urinal area is between 0.60 - 0.70m to ensure that users have sufficient activity space.
General Installation Requirements
- The end of the handrail must be bent towards the wall or downwards to prevent users' clothes from getting caught.
- The fixed base plate should be thickened and fixed to a solid wall with expansion screws to ensure that the handrail can withstand a load of more than 150kg without loosening.
- The distance between the inner side of the handrail and the wall should be 40 - 50mm to facilitate users in gripping.
- It is recommended that the height of the center of the handrail above the ground be 85 - 90cm (based on the height of an elderly person's hand when sitting). The fixed handrail should be 60 - 80cm long, with both ends extending 15cm beyond the edge; the movable handrail should be 80 - 100cm long, and the diameter with the best grip feel is 30 - 40mm.
For specific diagrams, it is recommended to refer to relevant architectural design specifications or contact professional manufacturers for construction drawings.
