Materials for Mobile Toilet Frames

Admin September 22, 2026

Over 90% of mobile toilet frames are made of steel, with three main material options depending on the grade and purpose: steel structure welded frames, light steel keel structures, and fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) integrated molding frames. Details are as follows:

Steel Structure Welded Frames are the most mainstream option for mobile toilet frames. They come in a variety of commonly used material specifications. The columns are typically made of galvanized square steel or square tubes, with specifications such as 50×50mm, 80×80mm, and 100×100mm. The bottom crossbeams use channel steel or I-beams, such as 10# and 12# galvanized channel steel. The keels or crossbeams are made of angle steel or galvanized square tubes, selected according to national standards. The entire frame is welded using Q235 national standard steel light square steel and angle steel. This option offers high strength and strong wind resistance. Before construction, anti-corrosion and rust removal treatments, such as painting or hot-dip galvanizing, are required, ensuring a service life of over 20 years. The bottom is usually welded with channel steel or I-beams to form a chassis, ensuring no deformation during lifting. The columns serve as vertical supports, ensuring the stability of the toilet in the vertical direction. The welding process uses full welding to ensure the frame connections are firm and can withstand multiple liftings and relocations.

Light Steel Keel Structures are made of galvanized C-shaped steel or G550 hot-dip galvanized aluminum-zinc steel plates, with a process that uses pins and screws for connection without welding, protecting the integrity of the zinc film. Their advantages include light weight, with the overall weight being only 1/5 of that of brick-concrete structures, and strong corrosion resistance, with a service life of over 100 years. This option is suitable for scenic spots and high-end customized mobile toilets. However, the price of G550 hot-dip galvanized aluminum-zinc steel is about twice that of Q235, with significantly improved durability and corrosion resistance.

Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) Integrated Molding Frames are commonly found in small single-unit mobile toilets, made of glass fiber reinforced plastic (commonly known as fiberglass). Their structural feature is integrated molding using molds, with no obvious welding points, ensuring good overall sealing, a smooth appearance, and resistance to rust, making them suitable for scenarios requiring frequent relocation. However, their load-bearing capacity is relatively weaker compared to steel structures and should be selected according to actual usage needs.
