Mobile Toilets for Events

Admin September 20, 2026

Mobile toilets are highly suitable for events, especially temporary event scenarios, and are currently the mainstream solution for addressing toilet needs in large gatherings, outdoor sports events, construction sites, rural festivals, and other similar settings.

Suitable Scenarios and Core Advantages

The core advantages of mobile toilets lie in their flexible deployment and rapid response, which can circumvent issues such as long construction periods, high costs, and immobility associated with traditional fixed toilets. For instance, in large-scale outdoor events (e.g., music festivals, marathons), they can be grouped and placed in key areas such as entrances, main stages, and dining zones based on foot traffic. In short-term construction projects or rural festivals, they can be quickly put into use without complex procedures and can be relocated or recycled as a whole after the project ends.

Types and Working Principles

Mobile toilets can be classified into three types based on their working principles:

  • Direct-discharge (flush) type: Equipped with a freshwater tank and a wastewater tank, these toilets flush using a foot pedal or manual pump and are suitable for venues with water supply and drainage connections.
  • Packaging (waterless flush) type: These toilets use biodegradable plastic bags to instantly package waste, eliminating the need for water flushing, and are suitable for water-scarce areas or regions with high environmental protection requirements (e.g., scenic spots, remote event locations).
  • Foam-sealing type: These toilets use foaming liquid to seal waste and suppress odors, conserving water and being environmentally friendly, making them the preferred choice for high-end events.

Industry Standards and Configuration Requirements

According to the GB/T 26357 - 2010 standard and industry norms, qualified mobile toilets must meet the following requirements:

  • Capacity: Each wastewater tank has a volume of 150L-300L, capable of serving 200-400 people (depending on usage frequency).
  • Ventilation and lighting: Equipped with a forced exhaust system or natural ventilation windows on the top and LED lighting inside.
  • Basic configuration: Standard features include a toilet paper holder, handrails, hooks, and a mirror, with an optional sink.

Operation and Maintenance Recommendations and Precautions

  • Quantity planning: Allocate one toilet per 50-100 people, increasing to one per 30 people during peak periods.
  • Wastewater disposal: Clean the wastewater tank every 2-3 days or after every 500 uses to prevent overflow.
  • Secure fixation: In areas with strong winds or uneven ground, use expansion bolts or weight blocks to secure the toilets.
  • Hygiene and epidemic prevention: Perform cleaning and disinfection 2-3 times a day, and strengthen prevention and control measures during flu seasons or after epidemics.
