Mobile Toilet Flushing with Foam

Admin October 01, 2026

The types of mobile toilets that use foam flushing technology mainly include foam-type mobile toilets and foam-style toilets. Their core principle is to achieve water conservation, odor prevention, and efficient sewage discharge through foam coverage.

Core Principles and Structures

  1. Foam-Type Mobile Toilets
These toilets use a foaming device to mix water with a specialized foaming agent in a specific ratio, generating fine foam that covers the inner surface of the toilet bowl, forming a sealed layer to isolate odors and prevent waste from adhering. After use, the foam wraps around the waste and discharges it into a storage tank through gravity or a flushing system. Their core components include the toilet bowl, foaming device (including a mixing tank, pump, and nozzle), storage tank, and control unit. Some models are equipped with automatic sensing activation functions, requiring only a small amount of foam mixture for each flush, resulting in significant water conservation.

  2. Foam-Style Toilets
These toilets utilize the high lubricity and sealing properties of low-water-content foam to achieve fecal flushing and odor blocking. The core device consists of a foaming cylinder, liquid storage tank, liquid level balancing tank, etc. It stabilizes the amount of foaming agent through the principle of a U-shaped tube and generates a long-lasting foam layer with compressed air. This technology consumes about 0.04 liters of water per person and no more than 0.2 kilowatt-hours of electricity per day. The foam produced by mixing the foaming agent with water can replace traditional flushing water, and the flexible sealing of the sewage outlet forms secondary odor prevention. In 2024, a utility model patent further optimized the technology, proposing a water-free foaming technology and integrating a fecal biochemical processor, achieving a water conservation rate of over 99%.

Application Scenarios and Advantages

Both types of toilets are suitable for temporary or highly mobile settings (such as outdoor events, construction sites, and tourist attractions), as well as water-scarce areas or ecologically sensitive regions (such as nature reserves). Their advantages include:

  • Water Conservation and Environmental Protection: Foam flushing significantly reduces water consumption, and the foaming agents are mostly biodegradable materials, reducing chemical pollution.
  • Excellent Odor Prevention: The foam layer seals the sewage outlet, effectively blocking the spread of odors.
  • Low Maintenance Costs: The small increase in the volume of waste reduces the frequency of collection and related costs.
  • Strong Adaptability: They can operate in environments ranging from -40°C to 50°C, and their compact equipment structure makes them easy to move and install.

Technology Comparison

Compared with chemical-type mobile toilets, foam-type toilets are more environmentally friendly (reducing chemical pollution); compared with water-flush toilets, they have a significant water conservation advantage (water-flush toilets require several liters of water per flush); compared with dry toilets, they have better odor control (dry toilets rely on adsorbent materials and require frequent cleaning).
