How to Remove the Flush Tank of a Mobile Toilet

Admin October 22, 2026

The removal of the flush tank of a mobile toilet can be carried out according to the following steps:

Step 1: Turn off the water supply
Locate the water inlet valve near the toilet, which is usually a small knob structure. Rotate the valve handle counterclockwise to the farthest end or clockwise until it can no longer turn, ensuring that the water supply is completely cut off. This operation can prevent water from overflowing during the removal process and avoid making the floor slippery or damaging the equipment.

Step 2: Empty the tank
Press and hold the flush lever or press the flush button to allow the water stored in the tank to flow out through the drain. If there is still residual water at the bottom of the tank, use a sponge or cleaning cloth to completely soak it up to prevent water droplets from splashing onto the floor or parts during subsequent operations.

Step 3: Remove the tank lid
Grasp the edges on both sides of the tank lid with both hands and lift it up steadily to avoid breaking the lid or dislodging internal parts due to excessive force. Some tank lids may be stuck due to long-term use and can be removed after gently shaking them left and right.

Step 4: Disconnect the water inlet pipe
Use a wrench or pliers to loosen the connection nut of the water inlet pipe counterclockwise and loosen one end of the hose connected to the tank. If the nut is rusty and difficult to unscrew by hand, use a tool to increase the grip. At the same time, place a towel or bucket below to catch the residual water and prevent environmental pollution.

Step 5: Remove the drainage assembly
Choose the operation according to the fixing method of the drainage assembly:

  • Nut-fixed type: Use a wrench to unscrew the connection nut and separate the drainage valve from the bottom interface of the tank.
  • Snap-fit type: Press both sides of the snap to unlock it and directly remove the drainage assembly.
Pay attention to the direction of the parts during operation to avoid damaging the sealing ring or thread structure.

Step 6: Remove the tank
Use a screwdriver to loosen the fixing bolts inside the tank, loosen them one by one until all the bolts are detached from the toilet bowl. Lift the tank vertically upwards to separate it from the toilet. For some models, the tank can be removed by directly lifting it after closing the angle valve and removing the metal hose. The order needs to be adjusted according to the actual structure.

Precautions:

  1. Ensure that the water supply is completely turned off before removal to avoid accidental water spray.
  2. Wear gloves during operation to prevent scratches or contact with stains.
  3. Store the parts separately for easy subsequent installation or maintenance.
  4. If you encounter a complex structure or cannot remove it, it is recommended to contact a professional for handling.
