What Floor Tiles to Use for Mobile Toilets

Admin October 07, 2026

For mobile toilet floor tiles, options include full-body tiles, mosaic tiles, glazed tiles, antique/matte tiles, or non-slip tiles. The specific choice should be based on the usage scenario, non-slip requirements, cleaning difficulty, and budget.

  1. Full-Body Tiles Full-body tiles are one of the preferred materials for mobile toilet floors. Their rough surface and uniform texture, along with a low water absorption rate (usually below 0.5%), effectively reduce water penetration, preventing tile expansion or mold growth due to moisture. They are highly wear-resistant, capable of withstanding frequent foot traffic, and maintain stable non-slip performance even after long-term use or surface wear, making them particularly suitable for humid environments or outdoor mobile toilets.

  2. Mosaic Tiles Mosaic tiles are composed of small tiles pieced together, with the segmented design increasing floor friction and providing good non-slip properties. Their main advantage is their low cost, making them suitable for small spaces or budget-constrained scenarios. However, it should be noted that the gaps between the small tiles can easily trap dirt and grime, creating卫生死角 (sanitary dead zones), requiring regular cleaning to prevent bacterial growth. If choosing this type of tile, it is recommended to prioritize products with smaller gaps and tight拼接 (jointing), and use acidic cleaners to treat stains.

  3. Glazed Tiles Glazed tiles are covered with a layer of glassy glaze, with textures that increase friction and offer strong stain resistance, making them easy to wipe clean. However, their non-slip properties are significantly affected by moisture: while they provide sufficient friction when dry, the glazed surface becomes slippery when wet, increasing the risk of slipping. Therefore, glazed tiles are more suitable for dry areas of mobile toilets (such as near sinks) or should be used with non-slip mats to avoid direct laying on wet floors.

  4. Antique/Matte Tiles Antique tiles typically have a textured surface, while matte tiles reduce glare through a matte finish, both enhancing non-slip properties through physical structure. Their relatively smooth surfaces make it difficult for stains to adhere, and they can be cleaned with ordinary cleaners, making them suitable for budget-conscious scenarios that prioritize practicality. It should be noted that some antique tiles have deep textures, which may increase cleaning difficulty, requiring selection based on the specific product.

  5. Non-Slip Tiles Tiles specifically designed for non-slip properties (such as those with a non-slip coefficient of R11 or higher) are a universal choice for mobile toilets. Their internal structure or surface工艺 (craftsmanship), such as microcrystal glass glaze or textured surfaces, significantly enhance friction, maintaining stability even when wet, and are suitable for internal floor laying, combining durability with safety.

Brand and Craftsmanship Recommendations: Prioritize brands like Marco Polo, Dongpeng, and Nobel, whose products often incorporate microcrystal glass glaze, textured surfaces, and other craftsmanship, offering superior non-slip and durable properties. During laying, ensure the floor is level and the tile joints are tightly filled to reduce the risk of water accumulation.
