Mobile Toilet Floor Tile Renovation

Admin September 24, 2026

If the mobile toilet floor tile renovation involves adjusting the position of the toilet, you can refer to the following methods:

1. Use a toilet offset flange
Suitable for short-distance (100 - 300mm) relocation. Before waterproofing, chisel out 20 - 40mm of the floor slab, pre-embed a finished offset flange, connect one end to the original toilet drain pipe, and extend the other end to the target position. Then, complete floor leveling, waterproofing, and tile laying, and finally install the toilet. Advantages: Small modification volume and low cost. Disadvantages: Limited relocation distance. If it exceeds 300mm, a slope needs to be set; otherwise, it is prone to blockage.

2. Same-floor drainage - floor slab lowering
Suitable for houses where the bathroom floor slab has already been lowered (250 - 350mm). The toilet and drain outlet positions can be directly rearranged within the lowered slab space. It is recommended to use lightweight bricks or blocks as backfill materials. Advantages: Free relocation and unrestricted position. Disadvantages: Dependent on the original structure of the house, with poor versatility.

3. Same-floor drainage - floor slab raising
Lightweight blocks are required to build a base platform 180 - 200mm high. Pre-embed a toilet sewage horizontal pipe (with a diameter of about 110mm), and then complete floor waterproofing and tile laying. The raised height should be appropriate for one step, and lightweight bricks or blocks are recommended as materials. Advantages: Long relocation distance and flexible layout. Disadvantages: After raising, the height difference between the floor and the indoor area is large, which is unfriendly to the elderly or those with mobility issues, and the workload is relatively large.

4. Create a movable toilet base using discarded tiles
Make a base by cutting tiles and installing universal wheels: Place the toilet on the tiles to mark the outline, cut out a rectangular block slightly larger than the bottom of the toilet, install universal wheels at the four corners of the tiles and fix them, cut off the protruding bolts on the back, bond the toilet and the tiles with cement, and reserve an interface for the sewage hose at the bottom. Advantages: Low cost and movable. Disadvantages: Poor sealing performance, and the sewage pipe is prone to leakage. The dryness of the floor needs to be checked frequently.

Precautions:

  • When using an offset flange for relocation exceeding 300mm, ensure that the slope of the sewage pipe is ≥2% to avoid poor drainage.
  • For same-floor drainage renovation, confirm the load-bearing capacity of the floor slab and avoid using overly heavy materials.
  • The tile base solution is only suitable for temporary or emergency scenarios. For long-term use, it is recommended to give priority to the first three methods.
