How to Remove and Transport Fecal Tanks from Mobile Toilets

Admin October 11, 2026

The removal and transportation methods for fecal tanks in mobile toilets mainly include centralized removal and treatment, manual cleaning, suction truck transportation, packaged sewage system cleaning, and microbial degradation system cleaning. The appropriate method should be selected based on the toilet type, usage scenario, and scale, and it is essential to ensure that the removal unit has the relevant qualifications.

Centralized Removal and Treatment

This method is suitable for most fixed mobile toilets. Before use, deodorants and flocculants should be added to the fecal tank to reduce odors and decrease the fluidity of the fecal matter. After use, the sealed valve should be closed to prevent leakage. During removal, qualified sanitation or environmental protection companies operate vacuum suction trucks to pump the feces into dedicated transfer tanks, which are then transported to municipal sewage treatment plants or fecal disposal stations. The end-stage treatment involves processes such as grid filtration, anaerobic fermentation, and aerobic treatment to convert the feces into harmless reclaimed water and sludge. The dewatered sludge can be used for composting or incineration.

Manual Cleaning

This method is suitable for small or temporary locations, such as remote construction sites or temporary event venues. Operators need to wear protective clothing, gloves, masks, and other equipment to manually transfer the sewage from the fecal tank to designated treatment points. This method is cost-effective but has low efficiency and poses health risks. Strict adherence to operational guidelines is necessary to avoid direct contact with excreta.

Suction Truck Transportation

  • Conventional Water Flush and Water Storage Sewage Systems: Professional suction trucks are connected to the water storage tank to quickly transport sewage to centralized treatment facilities. This method is efficient and hygienic, suitable for medium to large venues or long-term usage scenarios.
  • Vacuum Suction Sewage Systems: A vacuum pump generates negative pressure to suck the waste into a storage tank, which is then transported by a suction truck when full. Professional personnel are required to operate the vacuum pump and suction truck to ensure stable negative pressure and prevent waste residue. This method is suitable for high-frequency usage locations (such as scenic spots and construction sites). Regular maintenance of the vacuum pump and pipelines is necessary to prevent blockages, and the frequency of transportation should be recorded to optimize the removal plan.

Packaged Sewage System Cleaning

Excreta is sealed and packaged in biodegradable plastic bags. When full, a new bag needs to be replaced. During removal, staff open the toilet fixture, remove and seal the full bag, replace it with a new bag, and transfer the full bag to a waste disposal station for classification as ordinary waste or organic waste. The use of biodegradable materials can reduce environmental pollution. Regular inspection of the sealing of the packaging bags is necessary to prevent leakage, and an adequate supply of spare bags should be kept.

Microbial Degradation System Cleaning

Microorganisms decompose excreta into organic fertilizer. During removal, the degradation tank needs to be opened to remove the decomposed fertilizer and transfer it to a designated storage area. Regular addition of microbial inoculants is necessary to maintain a stable degradation environment and prevent a decrease in decomposition efficiency. At the same time, the humidity and temperature of the degradation tank need to be controlled to ensure microbial activity, and non-biodegradable items (such as plastics) should be avoided to prevent affecting the decomposition effect.

Removal Precautions: Removal and treatment units must hold a "Urban Domestic Waste Operational Cleaning, Collection, and Transportation Service License" or a qualification certificate issued by the environmental protection department to ensure compliant operations.
