Mobile Toilet Fecal Storage Tank

Admin September 24, 2026

The mobile toilet fecal storage tank is a mobile toilet septic tank used for collecting and treating excreta, providing a sanitary solution for scenarios lacking fixed sewage disposal facilities. Its core structure, working principle, common types, and material capacities are as follows:

I. Basic Structure The mobile toilet fecal storage tank mainly consists of a fecal storage tank, an inlet, an exhaust system, and decomposition aids. The fecal storage tank is the core component, typically made of corrosion-resistant materials such as plastic (e.g., polyethylene) or fiberglass-reinforced plastic, with capacities ranging from 200 liters to over 2000 liters, designed according to the number of users and frequency of use. The inlet directly connects to the toilet bowl, ensuring smooth entry of excreta into the tank. The exhaust system discharges gases from the tank through pipes to prevent odor accumulation or excessive pressure, with some models equipped with activated carbon filters for further gas purification. The decomposition aids include bioenzyme addition ports or chemical agent dispensing ports to accelerate the decomposition of organic matter.

II. Working Principle After entering the fecal storage tank, excreta undergo natural sedimentation to achieve solid-liquid separation: solid matter settles at the bottom, while liquid matter floats on top. Under the action of microorganisms, organic matter gradually decomposes into carbon dioxide, water, and a small amount of residue, while producing gases such as methane. Some advanced models enhance decomposition efficiency and shorten treatment cycles by adding bioenzymes or chemical agents (e.g., hydrogen peroxide). The exhaust system continuously discharges gases to maintain pressure balance within the tank and prevent structural damage caused by gas accumulation.

III. Common Types

  1. Disposable Simple Type: With a small capacity (about 200 liters), made of lightweight plastic, suitable for short-term events (e.g., exhibitions, temporary construction sites). Requires complete replacement or professional disposal after use, with low cost but poor environmental friendliness.
  2. Reusable Standard Type: Equipped with a cleaning port and wheels, with a medium capacity (500-1000 liters), commonly found in parks, construction sites, etc. Can be reused multiple times by suctioning residue through the cleaning port or flushing the tank.
  3. Advanced Functional Type: Integrated with dehydration or sterilization modules, with a large capacity (over 2000 liters), mostly used in crowded venues such as music festivals and sports events. Reduces residue volume and pathogens through physical dehydration or ultraviolet sterilization, but with higher cost.

IV. Material and Capacity Selection

  • Materials: Polyethylene plastic is lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and low-cost, suitable for small to medium-sized scenarios; fiberglass-reinforced plastic has higher strength and wear resistance, suitable for heavy-duty use but with a higher price; stainless steel, although strong, is susceptible to corrosion by acidic substances in excreta and requires additional surface treatment, with limited application.
  • Capacities: Small (200 liters) suitable for temporary household use or small events; medium (500-1000 liters) meets the needs of moderate traffic in construction sites and parks; large (over 2000 liters) can support high-density crowds at music festivals and sports events.
