Mobile Toilet Fecal Collection Basin
The fecal collection basin for mobile toilets is usually the fecal tank in the product's built-in fecal treatment system, and some universal bedpans may be applicable but require confirmation of specification compatibility.

The fecal collection methods for mobile toilets mainly fall into two categories: built-in fecal treatment systems and external containers. Taking a mobile toilet with a length and width of 1.1 meters and a height of 2.3 meters as an example, it is made of polyethylene plastic and is equipped with a foot-operated squat toilet inside. Directly below the squat toilet is a fecal tank serving as the fecal collection basin. Such fecal tanks are usually designed as an integral part of the toilet body, with a corrosion-resistant and highly sealed material that effectively prevents odor leakage. The capacity can meet the needs of several to dozens of people depending on the model, and it requires regular cleaning through the fecal extraction port.
There are various universal bedpan products on the market, such as the Hengdachang Elderly Bedridden Bedpan Combination Bedpan (3.5 yuan), the Changyuan County Plastic Bedpan Nursing Bedpan (3.2 yuan), and the Integrated Thickened Plastic Bedpan (5.5 yuan). These products are mostly made of plastic and are originally designed to serve bedridden patients or people with mobility issues, without explicit labeling indicating suitability for mobile toilet scenarios. If they are to be used as an alternative to the fecal collection basin of a mobile toilet, the following parameters need to be confirmed:
- Size compatibility: The opening size of the squat toilet in the mobile toilet should match the upper diameter of the bedpan to avoid leakage caused by installation gaps;
- Load-bearing capacity: Mobile toilets are used frequently, and the bedpan needs to withstand frequent stepping or heavy object pressure;
- Sealing structure: It should have an anti-odor design, such as a silicone sealing ring or a double-layer cover;
- Cleaning convenience: Prioritize those with a removable inner tank or a large-diameter design for quick emptying and disinfection.
Practical application suggestions: If the built-in fecal tank of the mobile toilet is damaged or needs expansion, it is advisable to contact the manufacturer first to replace the original parts to ensure system compatibility. If a temporary replacement is needed, measure the opening size of the squat toilet, select a universal bedpan with a slightly larger diameter, wrap waterproof tape around the connection to enhance sealing, and shorten the cleaning cycle to avoid blockages.
