Mobile Toilet Exhaust System

Admin October 02, 2026

The layout of the mobile toilet exhaust system needs to comprehensively consider various aspects such as site selection, equipment, piping, filtration, and monitoring. At the same time, different types of ventilation systems can be selected according to requirements.

Layout Key Points

  1. Site Selection and Air Outlet Direction: Prioritize locations with good natural ventilation, avoiding low-lying and leeward areas. Determine the toilet orientation based on the prevailing seasonal wind direction.
  2. Ventilation Equipment Power: Equip a single mobile toilet with a small exhaust fan with a power of ≥5W. For large toilets, two fans can be connected in parallel to ensure 8-10 air changes per hour.
  3. Piping Layout: Keep the exhaust pipes short and straight, reducing bends. For multiple toilets arranged side by side, use a centralized exhaust main pipe for connection, and install air volume control valves on the branch pipes.
  4. Odor Filtration: Add activated carbon filter cotton or photocatalytic filter screens in front of the exhaust fans, and install anti-mosquito nets at the air inlets in summer.
  5. Intelligent Monitoring: Equip large-scale events with air quality sensors. Automatically start the exhaust when the odor exceeds the standard and formulate emergency plans.
  6. Air Outlet Position: Keep it away from personnel activity areas. Install it on the top or high on the side wall of the toilet, more than 1.8 meters above the ground, avoiding direct sunlight and rain.
  7. Ventilation Pipe Direction: Follow the principle of "short, straight, and smooth", reducing bends and joints. The pipe diameter should be no less than 10 centimeters.
  8. Fan Selection and Installation: Select axial or centrifugal fans with appropriate power. For a single toilet cubicle, use equipment with an air volume of 15-20 cubic meters per minute. Reserve maintenance space during installation, level the fan body, and install rain-proof louvers and insect screens.
  9. Odor Control Assistance: Combine with activated carbon adsorption devices or deodorizing liquid sprays. Install an air exchanger inside to design an "upper supply and lower exhaust" airflow pattern. Regularly clean the air outlet filters.

Ventilation System Types

  1. Natural Ventilation System: Achieve air exchange through wall vents using natural wind power. It has a simple structure and is energy-saving and environmentally friendly, but the ventilation effect is greatly affected by natural conditions.
  2. Mechanical Ventilation System: Includes exhaust fan ventilation and combined supply and exhaust ventilation. Exhaust fan ventilation quickly improves the air but may create negative pressure; combined supply and exhaust ventilation can precisely control air flow and quality.
  3. Deodorizing Ventilation System: Equipped with special deodorizing equipment, such as activated carbon adsorption devices and photocatalytic oxidation equipment, with a significant effect on removing odors.
  4. Intelligent Ventilation System: Use sensors to monitor parameters and automatically adjust the operation of ventilation equipment to achieve intelligent and precise ventilation control.
