Mobile Toilet Exhaust Purification
Admin October 08, 2026
Mobile toilet exhaust purification requires the integrated application of ventilation systems, purification processes, and scientific layout to achieve efficient odor removal and improved air quality.

1. Selection of Ventilation System Types
- Natural Ventilation Systems: Suitable for regions with mild climates and stable wind conditions, these systems achieve air exchange through wall louvers. They are simple in structure and energy-efficient, but their ventilation effectiveness is limited by natural conditions.
- Mechanical Ventilation Systems:
- Exhaust Fan Ventilation: Requires proper placement of air inlets to balance negative pressure and prevent odor backflow, suitable for small toilets.
- Combined Supply and Exhaust Ventilation: Utilizes coordinated operation of supply and exhaust fans to precisely control airflow, maintain stable indoor pressure, and prevent odor leakage, ideal for large or high-traffic toilets.
- Deodorizing Ventilation Systems: Equipped with activated carbon adsorption units or photocatalytic oxidation equipment, these systems significantly enhance air quality through physical adsorption or chemical decomposition of odor molecules.
- Smart Ventilation Systems: Utilize sensors to monitor air quality, humidity, and other parameters, automatically adjusting ventilation equipment operation to achieve a balance between energy efficiency and effective odor removal.
2. Optimization of Exhaust Purification Processes
- Forced Exhaust and Negative Pressure Toilets: Quickly expel foul air through exhaust fans, but attention must be paid to the location of exhaust outlets to avoid secondary air pollution.
- Centralized Collection and Purification: Utilize ducts to collect odors, which are then filtered through activated carbon or treated by photocatalytic oxidation before discharge. Regular maintenance of purification equipment is necessary to ensure effectiveness.
- Total Heat Recovery Ventilation Systems: Achieve air circulation and exchange through fresh air units, providing fresh air while recovering heat. However, installation costs are relatively high, making them suitable for scenarios with high comfort requirements.
- Warning Against Outdated Solutions: Automatic air fresheners in public toilets merely mask odors without removing pollutants. Long-term use may pose health risks and should be avoided.
3. Key Points for Exhaust System Layout
- Site Selection and Air Inlet Direction: Prioritize locations with good natural ventilation conditions, avoiding low-lying or leeward areas; adjust air inlet orientation according to the season (e.g., southeast in summer, leeward in winter).
- Matching Ventilation Equipment Power: Equip individual toilets with exhaust fans of power ≥5W, and use dual fans in parallel for large toilets to ensure 8-10 air changes per hour. Choose rainproof equipment (e.g., IP54 or higher).
- Optimized Duct Layout: Keep exhaust ducts short and straight, minimizing bends; use centralized exhaust mains for multiple toilets in a row, with rainproof louvers installed at outlets.
- Odor Filtration Systems: Install activated carbon filter pads or photocatalyst filters in front of exhaust fans, and replace them regularly (preferably using washable materials); install mosquito nets at air inlets.
- Smart Monitoring and Emergency Response: Equip with air quality sensors to automatically activate the exhaust system when odor levels exceed standards; develop emergency plans for extreme weather conditions, such as preparing backup power interfaces.
