Removal of Exhaust Fan in Mobile Toilet

Admin October 07, 2026

To remove the exhaust fan in a mobile toilet, first cut off the power supply, and then select the appropriate tools based on the fixing method. The specific steps are as follows:

I. Power Cut-off and Safety Preparations

  1. Turn off the power: Be sure to turn off the power supply to the lighting circuit first. Use an electric pen to test and confirm that there is no electricity before proceeding to avoid the risk of electric shock.
  2. Wear protective gear: When disassembling, wear cotton gloves to prevent the edges of the exhaust fan made of fiberglass from pricking your hands. In old residential areas, check whether the wall is hollow. Hold the body of the exhaust fan before disassembling to avoid it falling and injuring people.

II. Disassemble the Main Body According to the Fixing Method

  1. Plastic grille handling: If there is a plastic grille on the surface of the exhaust fan, rotate it counterclockwise first to remove it and expose the internal main body.
  2. Snap-in fixing:
    • This is common in PVC exhaust fans. Use a flat-head screwdriver to gently pry along the frame. When you hear a 'click' sound, it means the snap has been released.
    • Hold the body of the exhaust fan with both hands, shake it left and right, and then remove it as a whole. Avoid using excessive force to prevent the frame from breaking.
  3. Screw fixing:
    • Metal frames often use this method. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the four corner screws.
    • If the screws are rusty, you can spray WD-40 rust remover on them, let it sit for 5 minutes, and then turn them. For stubborn screws, you can use a utility knife to clean the rust to assist in disassembly.
  4. Embedded aluminum frame:
    • First, remove the ceiling panels: Gently push the adjacent panels outward to make room for operation.
    • Use a scraper (or an old credit card as a substitute) to cut through the glass glue adhesive, and slowly separate the exhaust fan from the aluminum frame.
  5. Quick-install structure: Some new exhaust fans have a red release button on the side. Press it and you can directly pull it down without the need for complex tools.

III. Tool Substitutes and Cleaning and Maintenance

  1. Tool substitute solutions:
    • A scraper can be replaced with a utility knife or an old credit card to avoid scratching the surface.
    • Stubborn stain treatment: Mix baking soda and white vinegar (2:1) and apply it to the seams. After softening, it will be easier to separate.
  2. Air duct cleaning: After disassembly, check the dust accumulation in the air duct. If the dust thickness exceeds 2mm, use a vacuum cleaner with a long nozzle attachment and a soft brush to clean it and reduce the load on the motor.

IV. Precautions for Replacing with a New Unit

If you need to replace the exhaust fan with a new one, when measuring the size of the original opening, it is recommended to measure the upper, middle, and lower parts and take the maximum value to ensure compatibility. Common specifications on the market are 20cm×20cm or 30cm×30cm. Choosing a model that matches the original size can avoid secondary modifications.
