Height of Drainage Position for Mobile Toilets
Admin September 20, 2026
There is no uniform and fixed standard value for the height of the drainage position of mobile toilets, which varies due to multiple factors.

Determination Based on Usage Scenarios
- Outdoor Temporary Events: When holding temporary events such as outdoor music festivals and sports events, mobile toilets are usually placed on relatively flat ground. To facilitate sewage discharge and connection to the on-site drainage system, the height of the drainage position is generally determined according to the elevation of the on-site drainage pipes. If the on-site drainage pipes are buried shallowly, the height of the mobile toilet's drainage position may be relatively low, generally around 0.3 - 0.5 meters. This ensures that sewage can flow smoothly into the drainage pipes, facilitates pipe connection, and reduces construction difficulty and cost. If the on-site terrain is undulating or the drainage pipes are in special positions, the height of the drainage position may be adjusted appropriately, but it will also be kept within a reasonable range as much as possible to ensure smooth drainage.
- Construction Sites: The environment at construction sites is relatively complex, with uneven ground and a large amount of construction materials and equipment. The height of the mobile toilet's drainage position needs to take into account the site's drainage plan and terrain conditions. If there are dedicated sewage discharge ditches at the construction site, the height of the mobile toilet's drainage position should match the elevation of the ditches, usually between 0.5 - 0.8 meters. This allows sewage to flow naturally into the ditches by gravity, preventing sewage backflow or accumulation around the toilets. At the same time, the movement of vehicles and the placement of equipment during construction should also be considered to ensure that the drainage pipes are not crushed or blocked.
Determination Based on Mobile Toilet Types
- Direct-Discharge Mobile Toilets: These toilets directly discharge sewage into the external environment, and the height of the drainage position is relatively flexible. If the sewage is discharged into a sewage pit on the ground, the drainage outlet is generally 0.2 - 0.4 meters above the ground, which facilitates sewage flow and prevents splashing. If it needs to be discharged into a slightly higher sewage collection container, the height of the drainage position will be adjusted according to the height of the container, generally around 0.5 - 1 meter, to ensure that the sewage can accurately flow into the container.
- Circulating Mobile Toilets: Circulating mobile toilets treat and recycle sewage through an internal treatment system. The drainage is mainly used to discharge treated clean water or a small amount of residual sewage. The height of their drainage position is usually low, generally between 0.1 - 0.3 meters, because these toilets have relatively low requirements for drainage, mainly to ensure that the treated water can be discharged smoothly and does not cause pollution to the surrounding environment.
