How to Install the Drain Pipe for a Mobile Toilet

Admin October 09, 2026

The installation of the drain pipe for a mobile toilet must strictly adhere to specifications. The specific steps are as follows:

  1. Determine the drainage location

    • Select an area closest to the bottom of the mobile toilet that facilitates connection to the municipal sewer network. Ensure a slope of ≥2% (i.e., a drop of 2 cm per meter) to enable self-flow drainage.
    • The installation location should be well-ventilated, with convenient drainage, and sufficient operating space around the drain pipe outlet to avoid difficulties in later maintenance.
  2. Connect the drain pipe

    • Interface matching: Align the drain pipe with the sewage outlet of the mobile toilet and select an interface that matches in size and type (e.g., for PVC-U pipes, an outer diameter of 110 mm and an inner diameter of 103 mm are recommended) to ensure a tight connection.
    • Bell-and-spigot connection: Use a bell-and-spigot installation method. Apply special glue at the interface and seal it with a rubber ring to prevent sewage leakage.
  3. Sealing treatment

    • Interface sealing: Apply sealing glue evenly at the connection between the drain pipe and the interface, and press firmly until they are tightly fitted to ensure no gaps.
    • Installation of waterproof flanges: A waterproof flange should be installed at the junction of the pipe and the toilet base, and the gaps should be filled with weather-resistant sealing glue to enhance waterproofing performance.
  4. Maintain the angle of the drain pipe

    • The drain pipe should be kept as vertical or horizontal as possible to avoid excessive inclination that could cause sewage backflow.
    • Elbow selection: Right-angle bends are strictly prohibited. Use 45° elbows to reduce resistance; in winter, install insulation layers to prevent pipe freezing and cracking.
  5. System testing

    • Water injection test: After injecting water, check for interface leakage. The drainage flow rate should be ≥0.6 m/s to avoid blockage by sediment.
    • Pressure boost test: Test under 1.5 times the normal water pressure for 20-30 minutes to observe for leaks; or determine leakage by observing whether the water meter moves after closing the main valve.
    • Pressure test: It is recommended to conduct an 8-kg pressure test after construction for 20-30 minutes to ensure system stability.
  6. Regular cleaning

    • Use professional pipe cleaning tools or manually clean the drain pipe to prevent the accumulation of dirt from affecting drainage efficiency and maintain environmental hygiene.

Precautions: Before installation, confirm the specifications of the municipal sewer network interface. After construction, conduct a comprehensive test and regularly check the sealing and drainage smoothness to ensure long-term stable use.
