Mobile Toilet Disinfection
Disinfection of mobile toilets can be achieved through physical and chemical disinfection methods, which must be carried out regularly in accordance with safety operating procedures.

I. Physical Disinfection Methods
Ultraviolet Disinfection
Install ultraviolet disinfection lamps inside the mobile toilet and turn them on during unoccupied periods (such as at night) to achieve sterilization by destroying the DNA structure of microorganisms. The exposure time should last for more than 30 minutes to ensure coverage of all surfaces. Since ultraviolet light has weak penetration, attention should be paid to lamp tube cleanliness and irradiation angles to avoid obstruction.High-Temperature Steam Disinfection
Use a steam generator to produce high-temperature steam (≥100°C) and spray it on surfaces such as toilets and sinks for 3-5 minutes to kill common pathogens. If used for fecal treatment, ensure the temperature reaches above 80°C and is maintained for more than 30 minutes to completely inactivate viruses (such as the novel coronavirus). High-temperature steam can also dissolve dirt, providing a cleaning effect.
II. Chemical Disinfection Methods
Chlorine-Containing Disinfectants
Dilute 84 disinfectant in a 1:100 to 1:200 ratio and use a sprayer to thoroughly spray the floor, walls, toilets, etc. Wipe with clean water after 30 minutes. Chlorine-containing disinfectants are effective against intestinal pathogens and pyogenic cocci, but attention should be paid to concentration control to avoid corroding metals or fabrics.Peracetic Acid
Dilute to a 0.2%-0.5% concentration and use for wiping or spraying, suitable for corrosion-resistant surfaces. The decomposition products of peracetic acid are acetic acid and water, leaving no residue. However, it has strong oxidizing and corrosive properties, so protective clothing, gloves, and goggles should be worn during operation to avoid skin contact or inhalation.75% Alcohol
Use for wiping and disinfecting high-frequency contact areas such as door handles and faucets, acting for 1-3 minutes to quickly inactivate viruses. Alcohol is flammable, so keep it away from fire sources and avoid large-area spraying.
III. Operating Procedures and Precautions
- Unmanned Operation: Prohibit personnel entry during disinfection to avoid ultraviolet burns or inhalation of disinfectants.
- Ventilation: After disinfection, open windows or activate the exhaust system for at least 30 minutes to reduce residual concentrations.
- Regular Cleaning: Combine with daily cleaning (such as the requirement for "one person, one disinfection" in makeshift hospitals) to keep the toilet free of dirt and odors.
- Personal Protection: Operators should wear masks and gloves, and wear protective clothing if necessary, to prevent skin or mucosal contact with disinfectants.
By scientifically selecting disinfection methods and strictly following procedures, the risk of pathogen transmission in mobile toilets can be effectively controlled, ensuring public health and safety.
